Gun Grabber version of the Second Amendment

Do I break Godwin’s Law right off the bat when I say “we have the children”?  I rail all the time that a lot of the problems here in the US are due to our bad educational system and the huge lack knowledge by Americans, especially those in school, about how our style of Government is supposed to work and how it was to implement the Founder philosophy underlying it.  And when you see outright distortions (rising to the level of lying, as these folks writing educational materials should know better, but hey, that’s why a lot of radicals like Bill Ayers went into the “train the teachers’ biz: radicalize the teachers and you radicalize a few generations easy peazy).

Like this, as reported by The Blaze, on the Second Amendment:

Gun Grabber version of the Second AmendmentFor those that might be a bit puzzled themselves, the actual text of the Second Amendment:

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

I’m no lawyer and I don’t play one here on the ‘Grok.  Yes, I know that restrictions have been placed upon this Right, but I also see that, overall, gun laws (thanks to Heller in DC) are being challenged – and “Liberty-ized” where more and more states are making it far easier to own and carry (either open or concealed) than ever before.  But the point that I see is that the plain language of the Second Amendment doesn’t mention:

  • any particular kind of weapons
  • ANYTHING about registration
  • that Government should have any knowledge at all as to who has what firearms
  • that one’s criminal record has an effect on this Right
  • anything about the British

Yes, lots of States HAVE placed restrictions on firearms ownership to the point of making it all but impossible to be able to keep or bear arms.  But if one looks at the exact language in terms of when it was written, the above screenshot is absolutely wrong.  Is this how you want your schools to be teaching your children?  We hate counterfeit money in our society – why would we want to settle for counterfeit knowledge?  Especially when it is BAD counterfeit?

Note: Given that the Shot Heard ‘Round The World was indeed a reaction to and a consequence of the British trying to disarm the colonists.  Just like the Progressive gun grabbers of today, it was supposed to be “for your own good” – another falsehood.  Knowing that, they’ve resorted to the idea of “normalizing” that guns are bad.

After all, they have the children (in government schools).
