“Brady Campaign to Honor Yee for Violence Prevention”

As Steve laid out here and here, we have an Uber-GunGrabber now in deep sneakers: Democrat Leland Yee has been indicted for gun running.  Yup, gun running – he may be against “gun violence” here in the US but two-facedly has no qualms about making a profit from “gun violence” somewhere else.  It is stunning, simply STUNNING I tell you, that we see a leading Democrat trying to play both sides – with a few bucks into the pocket at the same time?

I’m betting that these guys (even if a bit old) aren’t happy that they got snookered too – heh, from Yee’s own website:

SACRAMENTO – For his commitment to ending gun violence, Assembly Speaker pro Tem Leland Yee (D-San Francisco/Daly City) has been named to the Gun Violence Prevention Honor Roll by the Brady Campaign. The Brady Campaign will honor Yee and other state legislators from throughout the country who earned an A+ for working against gun violence at a reception during the National Conference of State Legislators in Nashville, Tennessee, on Wednesday, August 16, 2006.

“More than nine children are killed each day as a result of gun homicides, suicides, and unintentional shootings in the United States alone,” said Yee. “While I am proud to stand up against the gun industry and support violence prevention efforts, it is unfortunate that such legislative measures are still needed to end these senseless acts of violence.”

Oh, I get it – not a sliding scale but a teeter-totter scale – less here means more there!  I’m just not thinking, however, that the Brady Campaign’s opposite number, the NRA, is going to hand out an opposite prize as while they are also against violence using firearms, they support law abiding types of folks – which this Democrat seems not to be (innocent until proven guilty).
