"You're dreaming" - Granite Grok

“You’re dreaming”

Well, just after I wrote this, I saw that John Distaso’s latest popped up on my Google watch list.  And NH GOP Chair Jennifer Horn had this to say about this (emphasis mine):

State GOP chair Jennifer Horn told us today, “There is a healthy debate about the Senate’s health care compromise taking place among Republicans. This sort of debate and discussion within a political party is natural and nothing new.

“As we’ve always done, I am confident that come November, Republicans will unite behind our candidates and rally around our fiscally responsible solutions to address the difficult issues facing our state and our nation,” she said.

Happy talk.  JENNIFER!  Medicaid Expansion is NOT a “fiscally responsible solution” – and you can’t put lipstick on this pig. Medicaid Expansion is NOT something that Republicans are going to “rally around“, is it (its rather plain to see now)?  There is another political leader that makes these King Canute type statements – and for this country, there is no success there either.  Maybe it IS me, but Jennifer, you are facing a revoltyou either aren’t seeing it or trying to sweep the dirty laundry under the rug (yeah, metaphor overload).  You report to not just the Executive Board but to the State Committee members as well  – and they are telling you AND the NH State Senator Republicans you are doing the wrong thing.  Are you going to listen, or pridefully stride out on your own? Your followers are telling you, in no small fashion, that they AREN’T following any longer.

By definition, a leader with no followers is just a lonely wanderer.  Staying on this track may well have a November that could turn out to be a worse disaster than what Fergus Cullen brought to the NH GOP during his tenure.

The question is, is she or will she listen (am beginning to think that the Rogue Republicans are becoming a lost cause)?  I sent her a long missive along the lines of what I’ve been writing here (transparency is us) and all I got back was “Thank you for your insights”.  Period.  No back and forth, no exchange of ideas, no building bridges.  Look, I know she is an Important Person and I’m just an ordinary schlub but a one liner?  Sure, I identify first as a Conservative before being a Republican.  I identify as a TEA Partier before being a Republican.  That said, I see no other way forward in protecting our Liberty & Freedom in the short term except to ensure that those principles get injected into the Party.

Or it will fail.  Mike Biundo from Citizens for a Strong New Hampshire has it exactly right:

“SB 413 brings the tentacles of Obamacare directly into New Hampshire.”

Then, Biundo cautioned, “Republicans in the State Senate who are thinking about voting for SB 413 should think long and hard about those they represent because there are a lot of us who do not support this bill whatsoever.”

No longer are Republicans are just falling into line because of “where else will they go?” that the elites believe will save them. Like I have said before, I AM receiving emails stating that in a number of races, they may not vote for the Republican opponent, but they aren’t going to vote for the Republican either.

What say you to that, Jennifer?
