The Global Warming “Problem” In Sochi, Russia

Sochi as seen from the black sea
Sochi Russia, is a humid sub-trpoical coastal resort.

It was a matter of Climate alarmist pride that there were “issues” with the warm weather in Sochi for the Winter Olympics.  Well, I’m here to punch your pride full of holes with some help from Joe Bastardi at Weatherbell – writing over at the PatriotPost.us.

“…even the Olympics are now being turned into a propaganda message, as we are hearing about how warm it is. Hello, McFly, Sochi’s normal high is 52 degrees in winter.

Here is what Wikipedia has to say about Sochi:

According to the 2010 Census, the city had a permanent population of 343,334, up from 328,809 recorded in the 2002 Census, making it Russia’s largest resort city. It is one of the very few places in Russia with a subtropical climate, with warm to hot summers and mild winters.

Do I need to quote Homer Simpson?

You are holding the Olympics in a subtropical climate and you are complaining about it being warm?

Normal winter time highs of 52 degrees.  Did anyone at the International Olympic Committee know that?  They have mountains.  It’s all good.  But it sure is warm, isn’t it?

“Sochi has a humid subtropical climate with mild winters (average 11 °C (52 °F) during the day and 4 °C (39 °F) at night) in the period from December to March…”

Alabama is also humid subtropical, just like Sochi.  Mobile, Alabama is a coastal city (Mobile Bay/Gulf of Mexico) with a winter mean-temperature that is 52 °F.  I don’t think they have nearby mountains as “nearby” as Sochi, but they have mountains in Alabama, and it gets colder in the Mountains, maybe colder than the mountains near Sochi.   Would people be wondering why it is “so warm” if they held a Winter Olympics outside Mobile, Alabama in February?

It makes you wonder how the scientific Global Warming wunderkind who got so worked up about the “warm winter weather” in a humid sub-tropical Black Sea resort town didn’t know that it is supposed to be like Mobile, Alabama.  Or are these the same ‘experts’ who don’t know that the earth goes around the sun?

They are definitely the same people who don’t question why climate-catastrophe-spouting Limousine-Liberals are still scooping up island-beachfront from their Gulfstreams despite two decades of dire warnings about sea-level rise.

Sorry, was that racist?
