The Economic Populist for Congress in NY 21 ad-hoc Committee…

Working-Families-PartySomeone sent me a link to an ad on Craiglsist seeking a candidate to run in New York Congressional District 21.  The laundry list of qualifications and the  context in which they are presented are very amusing.  Let me just say that if Cynthia Chase would like to consider the job I’ll help raise money to move her out there.

The Economic Populist for Congress in NY 21 ad-hoc Committee is seeking a dedicated, honest candidate to support for the 2014 election as representative to Congress in New York’s 21st District. Applicants should live in the 21st Congressional District or be willing to relocate, be at least 25 years of age with demonstrated ability and commitment to represent the 99% of Americans who can’t buy political influence, and not be beholden to Wall Street and the richest 1%. We are seeking a candidate dedicated to: ending economic inequality and income disparity; protecting and expanding Social Security; allowing students financial consideration equal to that enjoyed by banks; restoring public schools to a state of health; ensuring that corporations and the rich pay a fair share of taxes; reinstituting financial regulation; getting the corruption of money out of politics; ending poverty and in the interim demonstrate a willingness to assist the poor. For more information contact 518-505-0309. Serious candidates, send resume to the Committee by February 8.

The phone number tracks back to Sharon McFarlane and MoveOn.org.  That is to say that Sharon’s name is next to that same number on a MoveOn flier, for an anti-gun protest.  Turns out Sharon’s name pops all over New York and in the press for progressive, MoveOn, and Working Families Party activism.  She’s a tin-foil hat liberal.

Then, if you search the opening sentence on the Craigslist ad, you find this news article about the ad, which lists Fred Balzac as a member of the coalition…

The group is composed of public-interest advocates, labor activists and college students as well as members of the Democratic, Working Families and Green parties and independent voters from across the district, Mr. Balzac said.

Translation: communists and fellow travelers.  ACORN leftovers, coordinating with MoveOn.org, Communist Party USA, the Democrat Socialists of America, Greens, and so on.   (Here’s some background on the Working Families Party (WFA), also here, in case you forgot or are unacquainted with their brand of leftism.)

Fred Balzac is a textbook socialist who could write for Marx, Obama, or Clinton.  Here is a press release announcing his candidacy for a local ace in Jay, NY.

Writer/Community Organizer Enters Town Council Race Focused on the
Big Issues While Aiming to Make Government Work for Working Families

Hey, Fred’s just a regular guy.  A community organizer, and really, aren’t we all?  He’s one of the 99%, fighting Wall Street, sprung from the loins of a hard working union stiff, wronged by the man, and committed to promoting equality of outcome for all, no matter how much tyranny is required to make that Brave New World a reality.  He leaves the tyranny part out, but then they all do that.

So a group of commies inNY-21 is fishing for a Red Snapper.  And I bet they get one.  Though I can’t imagine why they don’t have someone in the WFA Farm system ready to put down their hammer and sickle and answer the call to duty.

I know, this is a bit of a distraction, but it only took  me 20 minutes from the time I read the Craigslist ad to right about (here).  That whole, “public interest advocates (lefty-non profits who hide their donors–most of whom are major liberal foundations from out of state), labor activists (Left-wingers), college students (majority left wing),  WFA (very far left) and green parties (also very far left)and independents….’ thing, made me laugh out loud.  Independents.  Hah!  Knee Slapper.  I couldn’t help it.  And then the first thing I hit is MoveOn.org?

I wonder who the token “independent” is?  Some Democrat must have re-registered.  Or maybe she’s just the girl who picks up the lattes at Starbucks before the drum circle starts.  I don’t know.

I used to live in New York state.  It wasn’t this bad when I left, but it was getting there. And now it’s spiraling down the toilet.

Buh-bye!
