So Christie is the GOP’s Guy? Or The Muslim Brotherhood’s Guy?

Back in July, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie hosted a dinner at the Governors Mansion where he hob-nobbed with members of Hamas and the Muslin Brotherhood, erstwhile lamenting a “gaze of intolerance that’s going around our country …” When concerns were raised about concerns for being too cozy with Islamic supremacists, Christie dismissively asserts,

“These are the kind of red herrings that people put up who are bigots, who want to judge people based upon their religious beliefs, want to judge people [sic] with a broad brush.”

Attending the dinner was the prominent New Jersey Imam Mohammad Qatanani. Christie tells the  audience: “I’m glad to have you here, Qatanani.” However, Governor Christie made no mention of Mohammed Qatanani’s Muslim Brotherhood membership. You know that same Muslin Brotherhood, behind both al-Qaeda and Hamas?  Qatanani’s own guilty plea for being a member of Hamas, along with the fact that he defends a charity that provides funds to children of suicide bombers , Qatanani has yet to be deported.”

Christie’s other pal , Sohail Mohammed, also whom Chrisitie appointed to a Superior Court judgeship in Passaic County was in attendance.  Mohammed was Qaranani’s lawyer when he pled guilty to membership in Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, erstwhile, Christie  slams opposition to Sharia in the U.S. as, “crap.”

But that wasn’t enough. Christie embarks on a passionate diatribe defending his Muslim pals, coming a bit unhinged after a  reporter asked a followup question about the spread of Islamic law and Sharia, in the country.

“Sharia law has nothing to do with this at all.  It’s crazy! Sohail Mohammed is an American citizen! This Sharia law business is just crap … and I’m tried of dealing with crazies,” the portly guv babbled.

Hearing from Christie, one might opine that Judge Mohammed is unjustly maligned out of “hatred,” “bigotry,” “Ignorance” and “Islamophobia.”and the specter of Sharia in these United States is a manifestation of intolerance.  This —in the face of a number of states who have already considered Sharia as a factor in their legal and legislative deliberations, juxtaposed in its contradictions of American law on the freedom of speech, the freedom of conscience, equality of rights for women, just to name a few.

North Carolina lawmakers on July 24 adopted a bill prohibiting judges from contemplating “foreign laws” in their decisions.   “Foreign laws” really means Shariah, or Islamic law. May 21 Kansas Governor Sam Brownback signed legislation prohibiting judges from considering foreign law in their rulings,  declaring any court decision void if the decision relies “in whole or in part on any foreign law, legal code or system that would not grant the parties affected by the…decision the same fundamental liberties, rights and privileges granted under the United States and Kansas constitutions.”

It is an amazing twist of irony that the ACLU has taken up the legal fight against such laws, couched in terms of bigotry. Remember, this is the same ACLU that has taken case after case based on the establishment clause of the U.S. constitution.  So while we as a nation continue to warp the dictum as separation of church and state, “freedom from religion,” another sect seeks to sanctify in American Jurisprudence, the very law based on a religion of intolerance.

Governor Chris Christie is the biggest Sharia apologist in Republican circles. Sharia law is religious law and if all things are equal, it has no more a place in legislative endeavors than does Christianity.

Christie cannot be the nominee…I hope this bridge issue sinks him.
