Ignorant Anti-Gun Pukes - Granite Grok

Ignorant Anti-Gun Pukes

The most dangerous people are the ignorant. —Henry Ward Beecher

who do you trustDiane Feinstein attempted to resurrect the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban along with the so-called high-capacity magazine ban.

Congress attempted to pass a comprehensive universal background check bill which served as a pretext to a national gun registry.

Bay State Democrat John Tierney filed a bill that would require firearms to work exclusively with their owners.

GunGrabbers_wantedThese measures all failed. We bore witness to the Obama temper tantrum immediately after the vote on universal background checks.  In essence, all gun control legislation failed and Second Amendment supporters can be grateful for that.

gun-grabbersBut they just keep coming with their bullet imprinting, their background checks, their magazine capacity limits, their schemes, their regulations, their silly ignorance on display for all of America to see…Clearly, they know not what they speak of.

The public was treated to a regular parade of freak shows such as the “No More Names” Bus where advocates read from a list of people, “killed by guns.” The problem there was that list included terrorists, cop killers and rank criminals. Bloomberg and his cadre, Moms Demanding Action, Mayors Against Illegal Guns, Gabrielle Giffords and her Husband Mark Kelly’s attempt to purchase a semi-auto rifle, liberals like to call an, “assault weapon.”

Connecticut, Colorado and New York  all ram-rodded draconian state legislation through which resulted in gun manufacturing leaving those states along with hundreds, if not thousands of jobs going with them. Those states’ Governors remained silent on that issue, though. Colorado recalled two of its politicians weakened by the passage of these gun bills. Connecticut now faces a self-created legal crisis where thousands of citizens are now stridently refusing to obey the corrupt law.

And the politicians and Kool-Aid drinking anti-gun folks blather on, comparing this nation to others such as England, Australia, Germany, and France in terms of guns and our society. What they always fail to note in their corrupt comparisons is that no other country on the face of God’s good earth has a Second Amendment written into their constitutions.

In the face of Heller v. DC and MacDonald v. Chicago, these big cities remain strident and resolved to push back against the highest court in the land. Washington DC is presently prosecuting a person for the mere possession of one spent shotgun shell, kept as a souvenir.

Liberals try to change the dialogue lexicon, talking about “gun crime” despite the fact that crimes committed with guns fall below other forms of violence. crime is just crime…not gun crime or bat crime or knife crime or hockey stick crime.

They just keep coming…and coming…and coming. It never ceases. Most likely, it never will. But the bright array of sunshine in all of this, were it not dangerous, is the goofs, gaffes and silly things the political class says about guns…Joe Biden and shootin through a door with a shotgun; Diana Degette, thinking magazine clipy thingys are thrown out when empty; State Sentator Kevin De Leon and his contorted defintion of a 30 caliber magazine clip that can fire 30 bullets in half a second; The list of dummies goes on.

The first national piece of gun legislation came in the wake of the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre with the National Firearms Act of 1934. That was passed outlawing machine guns, except by way of a revenue tax. And Americans assented…

The Federal Firearms act of 1938 placed the nations first limitations on selling firearms, and required those selling guns to obtain a Federal Firearms License, and to maintain records of the name and address of persons to whom firearms are sold. Gun sales to persons convicted of violent felonies were prohibited. Again, Americans assented…

The Gun Control Act of 1968 was enacted to keep firearms  away from those not legally entitled to possess them because of age, criminal background, or incompetence. Americans assented…

The Firearms Owners Protection Act of 1986 relaxed some restrictions on gun and ammunition sales, but not without a price. New Jersey Rep. William J. Hughes slipped in a ban for civilian ownership or transfer rights of any fully automatic weapon, or any firearm with selective fire capabilities, which was not registered as of May 19, 1986. The amendment also held that any such weapon manufactured and registered before the May 19 cutoff date could still be legally owned and transferred by civilians.  America assented…unfortunately.

The Crime Control Act of 1990 banned the manufacture and import of certain semiautomatic rifles a/k/a the misnomer, “assault weapons”. “Gun-free school zones” were established carrying with the measure, specific penalties for violations.

The 1994 Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act imposed a five-day waiting period on the purchase of a handgun and requires that local law enforcement agencies conduct background checks on purchasers of handguns. Also certain types of semi-automatic rifles were banned.  Printz v. United States, declares the background check requirement of the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act unconstitutional and in 1998 the NICS check system was implemented. This was a time when America began to say, “Enough!”

Since that time, we have had legislation requiring trigger locks, civil suits against gun manufacturers, gun shows banned and second amendment supporters treated as cultural pariahs.

When the Assault Weapons Ban saw its’ sunset in 2004, America found its resolve, and said, “Never Again.”

Today, there are more Americans than ever in U.S. history purchasing guns. Crime plummeted over a 20-year period in America while citizens purchased guns at breakneck rates.

Today, the freedom-loving Second Amendment citizens have at their fingertips some of the most powerful and awesome facts and organizations advocating for our second amendment rights. But we cannot rest in our laurels, for we must fight on. Tomorrow will bring a fresh row of back-bench liberals with a fist full of anti-gun bills. We fight on, but today we are better armed with the law and the facts.
