He’s got questions, I’ve got observations and answers

WMURSometimes, it’s easy and sometimes, there’s not much to work with.  But as I’ve said before, if Pindell is gonna ask, SOMEBODY has to answer……even if it is only me.  From last Friday’s Political Scoop:

  • What did Andrew Hemingway’s camp make of Jeb Bradley’s comments on CloseUP that if Brown gets in the U.S. Senate race other Republicans could run for governor?

It not only sends a message to Andrew of “You’re not good enough for me” but also a message to the more vibrant part of the Party (the “New” Republicans, the Liberty & Freedom wing of the Party).  Not that he had to send much of a message with respect to the base – that was already done with pushing the Obamacare Medicaid Expansion.  It basically sends a big F. U. loud and clear so as to say, like much of the Establishment wing of the Party: “Go away, we don’t want you“.  Fair enough – old news.  What it also says is something FAR more dangerous for the future of the NH GOP, given the tilt of party registrations and the closeness of races in many of the districts with NH GOPers:

Not only do we not want you, we don’t NEED you either

Good luck with that. I’ll respond with this question: what does NH GOP Chair Jennifer Horn think of this constant “snub you” messaging to a large part of her Party?  Doesn’t she realize they may take that message to heart?

And then what happens (/sarc)? Now to his Up and Downs: UP:

Carol Shea-Porter: She is the one Democrat in the entire country who can say she conforted [sic] President Obama (twice) on the rollout of the Affordable Care Act.

True, but no one is going to forget that she has been one of the biggest cheerleaders for Obamacare – and I have the townhall videos to prove it.  These are acts of political desperation in order to put any kind of distance between the OLD CSP who laid in the street (almost) to see it pass and this NEW one who is probably realizing that she’ll have her federal retirement at the end of this term but not much else.

DOWN:

Chuck Morse: Morse isn’t so much a down this week as he is super interesting. He chose to take on his base this week and that has not worked out so well for U.S. House Speaker John Boehner. The bigger question is why he picked this fight when it would have been a better political move to do nothing. (The 50,000 low income state residents who will get free health insurance do appreciate it though.)

It’s not like I’ve been mentioning him much but here goes.  James, they MIGHT appreciate it – or generally in a socioeconomic class that pays little attention, have no idea or care.  Further, generally being LIVs (Low Information Voters), I doubt this is a “smart” voter outreach

One thing’s sure, and I wonder why James didn’t bring it up, but Government cannot give anything to anyone unless it first takes from someone else.  “He chose to take on his base” – nice, so Chuck made the voluntary decision to force his base to lower their standard of living so he could take us on.  Did he forget that most of his base pays the Federal taxes that are allowing Chuck to give his “Free Federal Money” to 50,000 other people?  Or not care?
