HB 1503 - Do Women Deserve the Same 'Right' When They Choose To Have The Baby? - Granite Grok

HB 1503 – Do Women Deserve the Same ‘Right’ When They Choose To Have The Baby?

Choose Life - encourage fatherhoodMost Democrats won’t give up abortion for anything.  They wouldn’t even trade it for an end to capital punishment.

Democrats try to pass legislation making it difficult to protest abortion, even though the right to protest–organizing to protest–is the foundation of every left wing change movement.

But NH HB 1503 doesn’t say anything about abortion.  And it says nothing about the “right to protest.”  It asks a question.  Do Women who want to keep the baby deserve civil and criminal “rights” when choosing life is denied them by a criminal act?

This bill provides that a fetus shall be included in the definition of “another” for the purpose of first and second degree murder, manslaughter, negligent homicide, and causing or aiding suicide.

Repeating what I wrote here,

HB1503-FN would provide that a fetus shall be included in the definition of “another” for the purpose of first and second degree murder, manslaughter, negligent homicide, and causing or aiding suicide.

Now, before you lefties get your forceps in an uproar…

Nothing in this section or RSA 630:1-b, RSA 630:2, RSA 630:3, or RSA 630:4 shall apply to any act committed by the woman pregnant with the fetus, to any medical procedure, including abortion, performed by a physician or other licensed medical professional at the request of the pregnant woman or her legal guardian, or to the lawful dispensation or administration of lawfully prescribed medication.

Abortion, medical or chemical, is not addressed here.  This bill would acknowledge that if a woman chooses to have her baby and that baby is killed as the result of an act of murder, negligent homicide, or the causing or aiding in suicide, that the baby is entitled to the same rights as the mother in regard to legal action.

Do these women also have rights? Is any other choice worthy of protection?  Is it really her womb?  How Democrats vote on HB1503 will answer that question.

Most of the leading Democrat women in New Hampshire, certainly Leadership and the Governor, will do whatever EMILY’s list and Planned Parenthood tell them because it is not your womb.  That means they will be against this, even though it has nothing to do with abortion.

It is also likely that New Hampshire Democrats may try to amend it in a way that makes it either useless or more threatening, so that it is easier to vote against it.  They will provide cover so no one has to stand and answer the unpleasant question.

Rep Rideout is asking folks to contact this rep in particular, though, as the bill moves through the criminal justice and public safety committee, then to the House floor, everyone will want to reach out to their rep and ask the question: Do Women who want to keep the baby deserve civil and criminal “rights” when choosing life is denied them by a criminal act?

If You Haven’t contacted Rep Huot and asked Him to Stand with NH Families and Not Special Interest Groups. Tell Him No Amendments to HB 1503 Griffinslaw.
