Have a Koch and a Smile

pot-of-Money
Most of the money..is on the left.

Despite what you may have heard, the Kochtopus isn’t much to look at when it comes to the influence of money in politics.  According to the center for Responsive Politics, which tilts left by the way, Koch industries came in at a pathetic 59th place on their list of Top All Time Donors.

So who are the actual big dispensers of political money? The real cash-cow interlopers buying up votes and elections?  Unions.  Guess who they are donating to?

74% of all the money spent by the top 15 all time donors went to Democrats–that’s $552 million to $190 million.

72% of the money spent by the top 21 all time donors went to Democrats–a difference of $651 million for the Democrats to $251 Million for Republicans.

Democrat donors dominate the list which counts donations from 1989 to 2012.  In the top 50 only 18% of the groups identified invested significantly more in GOP campaigns and issues, and none (That’s ZERO) gave only to Republicans.

Twelve of the top sixteen donors gave almost exclusively to Democrats with several giving only to Democrats.

We know Democrats lie about a lot of things.  Campaign money is just another one of those things.

H/T Powerline and to Susan Olsen for posting that link on Facebook.

Here are the top 21 all time donors.  And Republicans who object to to right to work should take note; most of them are unions, and don’t they operate tax free as well?

I have highlighted the percentages given to Republicans for emphasis.
