Mark your calendar. On January 16th at 1PM (LOB 301) there will be a hearing on HB 1573-FN – a bill that would require all municipal planning boards to be elected—and therefore directly responsible to voters and taxpayers. That’s an idea I could get behind–making all planning boards responsive to the voice of the people.
HB1573 would also, out of necessity, eliminate regional planning boards, which are not elected nor responsible to any voter, taxpayers, nor to any elected town, county, or state official. That’s all you really need to know. They have power to make decisions and act on your interests and yet they answer to no one. That is not how New Hampshire works.
