HB 1573-FN ‘Making Planning Boards More Responsive To The People’…

commission members elected and accountableMark your calendar.  On January 16th at 1PM (LOB 301) there will be a hearing on HB 1573-FN – a bill that would require all municipal planning boards to be elected—and therefore directly responsible to voters and taxpayers.  That’s an idea I could get behind–making all planning boards responsive to the voice of the people.

HB1573 would also, out of necessity, eliminate regional planning boards, which are not elected nor responsible to any voter, taxpayers, nor to any elected town, county, or state official.  That’s all you really need to know.  They have power to make decisions and act on your interests and yet they answer to no one.   That is not how New Hampshire works.

Email the committee members with your thoughts (Municipal and County Government).

Plan to be at the committee hearing on January 16th at 1 pm- Legislative Office Building, room 301.

It’s your money and your town.  HB1573 ensures you have a voice in what these people do in your name.
