Fergus Cullen Asks Granite Staters To Fund College For Illegal Aliens

“Every absurdity has a champion to defend it.”  —Oliver Goldsmith

Fergus-Cullen-Grape-Kool-AidHouse Bill 474, Sponsored by Representative Peter B. Schmidt, (D) Strafford-6, would allow for in-state tuition status for  for students who are without a lawful immigration status. In short, this Democrat…this academic…who has a “dog in this fight” sponsors a bill to provide tuition at in-state rates to illegal aliens and the children of illegal aliens. Yeah, we get it. This is what Democrats do. Peter Schmidt has not ethical scruples about being a college professor and at the same time, sponsoring such a bill. No surprise here.

But what is more galling is a self-identified Republican specifically advocating for the passage of the bill through the direct emailing of other Republicans and house reps. In this email Cullen writes:

“I hope you will vote for HB 474, the bill allowing in-state tuition rates for undocumented students who do so well at New Hampshire high schools that they are admitted to our state colleges and universities.

No kid who has the grades to get admitted to our state universities should be treated as a second-class student when they get to college. We didn’t treat these kids differently in algebra class. We didn’t treat them differently when they were on high school sports teams or in the band. We shouldn’t suddenly treat them differently when they arrive at college by punishing them with a higher tuition rate than other kids from their same high school class are charged.

To my Republican friends, I add another point. Our party believes in equality of opportunity. It is not good for our party to be perceived as anti-immigrant. Why give the other side an opening to accuse Republicans of being so? If they have the grades to get into our colleges, let’s treat all kids who attended New Hampshire high schools the same when it comes to the bill.”

Cullen’s argument is that we should not treat them differently than in our public schools. But what Cullen fails to point out is that public education is a public mandate regardless of one’s status, documented or undocumented. College, (if one is white and middle class) is paid for out of ones’ own pocket and subsidized by the taxpayer at a substantial level.

Then Cullen whips out another one of his Kool-Aid laden, whoppers when he implies that Republicans are anti-immigrant. Yes, again pandering to the left as the establishment Republicans so love to do.

Fine! call me a bigot…call me anti-immigration. I do not give a hairy rats ass! That does not change the fact that I, like so many other Republicans, come from families of immigrants, have emigrated from somewhere else, or were brought here by parents who followed the rules.

Cullen denigrates so many who have either come to this country, playing by all the rules and following the laws, and becoming citizens or he denigrates our Moms and Dads, Grandfathers and Grandmothers. For that, Fergus Cullen is a disgusting human being.

As I have stated before, I am the child of an immigrant family. When my family came to America from Sweden, they had to have sponsors. My great grandfather did not become a U.S. citizen until 13 years after his arrival here. He came legally, with the permission and blessing of the U.S. Government and brought his family two years after when he could afford to support them.

When I hear the word, “Immigrant,” I don’t think of people sneaking across the border. I first think of my own family. For I am the product of immigrants.  August and Nilla Olson, my great-grandparents and their children, My uncle Yjalmär, My Aunt Astrid, my Grandfather Gunnar.

My grandmother insisted the children learn English and immersed them in doing so. She learned English reading Newspapers. They started a business in Concord New Hampshire as stone workers, worked hard, raised their children and were successful.

I will continue to tell my story because so many Republicans share a like or similar experience, only to be called by the whiny pissy left wing hypocrites, “anti-immigration.” I leave this final word to Fergus Cullen in the native language spoken by my family:

Du är en skamlig person i nedsättande dem som har kommit till Amerika, arbetat mycket hårt och spelas av reglerna. Du förringa hela amerikanska drömmen med din skamliga charlataneri och ge efter för den vänstra flygeln av detta stora land.

I don’t apologize for being the child of immigrants. We (my family) came here playing by the rules and didn’t ask for one special favor from the government, especially where they did not have the unmitigated gall to ask for it to be funded on the backs of Tax payers!

Behold, Fergus Cullen…Former Chairman of the New Hampshire “Republican” Party.
