There is a longstanding prejudice within the progressive, liberal, Democrat cabal towards religion. They love to sneer at the idea of intellectual-backwater, bitter-clingers who quote the Bible. “But the Bible says the world is only 4000 years old, and we know that’s not true.”
And yet these are the same intellectually superior people who want you to believe that the only climate that matters began about 100 years ago. Wait. Why not be generous? Let’s say that “climate” began one thousand years ago, circa the over-played cover of the actual temperature record by Michael Mann’s Earth Warming Hokey-Stick Band.
Yes, the Hockey stick that contradicted IPCC’s first report in 1990 and has since been recalculated and downplayed but not abandoned. The one that cherry-picked a fraction of the data from an otherwise unremarkable geologic interglacial. Rhen re-wrote the notes to get the tune the politically motivated rent-seekers wanted to hear? Yeah, that one.
My point, of course, is that the left complains endlessly about so-called Bible-thumpers using flawed “unscientific” thinking to manipulate your emotions and your beliefs in pursuit of some secret agenda. While simultaneously insisting that they only need 1000 years of modified temperature data as an excuse to tell everyone how to live (where to live, what to eat, drive, wear to work, how to get there, and yes–what to believe). And “Mother Nature help you” if you dare to question their prophets or sacred texts. Or dare complain about the brow-beating, intimation, censorship, or state-enforced mandatory tithing needed to fund all of the above. And don’t you dare insist on the existence of science that predates or contradicts their dogma. They are, after all, trying to save you from yourself.
The good news is that there is no need to fear the impending right-wing theocracy we all hear so much about, the Liberals have beaten them to it.
But ‘Climate’ is older than 100o years, and temperature records–thanks to that ‘Science’ thing–can speak to us from at least as far as 450,000 years ago.
So yes, there was ‘weather’ before the Bible. And the evidence suggests that history before the Bible presents a problem for the Progressive fear-mongers. It completely erases almost every premise of their quaint little theory.
The earth, it turns out, warms and cools all by itself, without any help from us and that the most recent warming period is not the warmest, not the warmest on record, not even close to the warmest on record. But if you isolate the data to the time during which the planet has exited a cooling period. And focus on the end of that warming trend, without looking at all the ones that preceded it. You can make all the claims you like and insist that you be taken seriously. As long as you can control what people see and hear, and control what the data looks like when presented as fact.
This is a fascist concept that presumes almost divine infallibility tempered by controlling information to preserve the desired outcome. An outcome that, not coincidentally, favors the purveyors of the dogma, gives them political power, and enriches them and their supporters at the considerable expense of other people’s income and liberty.
If you refuse the protective umbrella of ignorance they try to keep you under you are a heretic and excommunicated. If you read outside the prescribed texts you are pilloried.
The enviro-fascists are exactly that which they claim not to be. They are the Church persecuting thought outside approved IPCC/Left-Wing climate dogma. Their ‘experts’ are right, and yours are wrong. They are the pope, and we are Copernicus.
The dogmatic defense of the Progressive idea that man is the center of global warming is no different than stories of The Church intimidating Copernicus for claiming the earth went around the sun. That inconvenient truth meant rethinking a whole lot of thinking by so-called experts who might lose their grip on power and influence as a result.
The difference here is that we already knew about ice ages and warming periods. The IPCC knew in 1990, before it became a political construct fishing for power and money, that there were warmer periods before this one. But when they discovered they could use climate fascism to accumulate power and money, they shifted gears and began a scientific interregnum, which they filled with crack-pot theory to finance and enviro-fascist bucket list, on the road to global domination.
But that’s all a load of crap. And if we don’t take the real climate signals seriously, millions will freeze in the coming years. Transportation issues will magnify. And all because we wasted time pandering to temperature hippies (hippie-crites?) who fooled the world into thinking that natural events (which have been cycling for hundreds of thousands of years) are suddenly a) our fault, and b) if we let them rob us of enough money they can try to “fix it.”

Climate Record for the past 450 thousand years.
This is the ice core extent going back 450,000 years. On it, we can see ice ages and interglacials–periods when the globe warmed.
We are currently in an interglacial, potentially nearing the end of it, one that has not been as warm as those preceding it many thousands of years before.
You might also note that this science suggests that the current interglacial appears to have stalled.
Given what we know about the state of solar cycles, ocean temperatures, and temperature trends 9sans the pro-warmist ‘sky is falling’ rants of rent seekers pandering on the left) it is probably going to get colder for a while.
As to the actual question, ‘When did Global War-ming begin?,” read Anthony Watts piece so you can discover for yourself the complexity of the problem itself.
The answer is anywhere from 20,000 years ago to as recently as 1975, depending on whom you choose to believe. As to the why? Politics messes that all up until you ignore the politics and look at the data. Every 100-150,000 years or so it gets warmer for a while, then gets cooler for a lot longer, long before man, long before the Bible, and a good deal longer than before the invention of Hockey sticks for political rent-seekers in search of notoriety and funding or cold-weather opportunists in pursuit of sport.
