Once again, the push to make companies simply another part of Progressive Government

As I said here, Obamacare is the Progressive capstone to force otherwise Free people to take care of others – not out of kindness but out of fear.  Progressives, being the incremental socialists they are, previously have pretty much co-opted what used to be genuinely charitable organizations (now called ‘social services organizations who pretty much  grovel on their knees for any and all taxpayer funding; they have callouses on their kneecaps).  Once again, they are using the idea of a “living wage” (which exists only in the minds of Marxist ideologues and economic illiterates) to further press the meme that The Proper Role of Government is to take care of you – and force any non-State entities to fall into that same line by any means possible.  Doubt me?  Look at how Progressives are now forcing companies to comply with their social issues as if they were mere extensions of their government intrusion into all aspects of our lives, thus fulfilling their mantra of “Politics is personal…the Personal is politics”.

A “living wage” – a Marxist construct that Progressives are using to further their social issue agenda (and this IS why republican political operatives, strategists, and politicians are absolutely wrong to tell us “drop the social issues”) to force others to be responsible for other peoples’ well being (Washington Examiner, emphasis mine):

But there is a big lie behind this seemingly reasonable argument, namely that the employer is responsible for providing a person’s basic needs, not the individual himself. The falsehood is further illuminated by this question: Who is responsible for providing for the employer’s basic needs? If the answer is the employer, then society has two classes and equality is just a politically convenient myth.

The practical reality is that when employers are responsible for providing a living wage, sooner or later, it becomes the government’s duty to guarantee it. The choice then is between the dependence society encouraged by the living wage or the free society that results when individuals are primarily responsible for themselves.

Just another peal of the Marxist bell of “Each to their ability, each to their need”.  There cannot be ANY larger social issue than “who is responsible for me?” than this.  I’m NOT saying that a helping hand shouldn’t be extended at the appropriate times and done so with a level of accountability that Government can’t seem to muster.  Yes, the salary that I am paid from my employer allows me be independent and self-reliant – and I believe that to be true of most people who work.  They have invested in themselves to make them attractive to a company that would want to employ them.

This is the total reverse of that – this is a demand that a company pay MORE than what they are economically worth – and treat them with a level of dependence that one would extend to a child.  For in effect, that is what is being demanded – not that companies should do right by their employees (and most do exactly that) but should be forced to do more.

More and more: Government control of wages, Government control of mandated benefits, Government control of working conditions, Government control of vacation time and sick time – and myriads of laws, statutes, and regulations inserting themselves into the working environments and procedures.

We need to start asking ourselves – where is that line that Government should not crossWhere should it not be?

Sidenote: Even as with the HHS mandate, Obama, Sebelius, Shaheen, Carol Shea-Porter, and Annie Kuster might as well be standing in our bedrooms in our most intimate moments and ready at the fore to kill the baby that may result)?

The Personal is political” – Progressives mean exactly that – EVERYTHING must be turned political.  Echos of Facism resound – “Everything for the State and nothing outside of the State”.  Facism – yet another foreign political philosophy brought to American shores insofar that it provides “cover” to those who believe that we are no longer capable of caring for ourselves or caring for others in a voluntary fashion.  In short, we are not trustable to make the right decisions in their eyes.

Oh, they will tell you I’m lying – but look at the entities they support, the issues they move FORWARD!, their legislation, and their votes.  Just look at Shaheen’s Federal legislation to take away OUR choice as a sovereign State to make our own choices concerning abortion.  For or against abortion is not the issue for this post – the fact that Shaheen, once AGAIN (her earlier funding of NH Planned Parenthood a while ago even as the Executive Council nixed the contract), has decided to use the force of the Federal Government to lessen our NH chance to choose proves my point.

Once again, the Progressive Democrats have used a social issue to further deny us choices (and freedom IS the chance to choose for ourselves) – to take away Freedom.  The Republican Party is ostensibly the Party championing Freedom – are you listening, Establishment Republicans?

What shall you do?
