Data Point – The Pope is wrong

I would like to see proof that any other economic system can outstrip these results:

Results of Capitalism

The new Pope has warned the world about the “excess” of Free Market Capitalism – joining a large cohort of Crony Capitalists, Socialists, Communitarians, Progressives, and Communists that:

  • can’t understand that people can make decisions for themselves without other ‘adult supervision”
  • can’t bear the fact that all other economic systems have failed, failed badly, and in the worst cases, outright killed millions of their own citizens in rigid adherence to failed economic doctrines.

Not being Catholic and not having studied its theology in detail in years, I can understand the “good works” part of its social justice.  But to argue that Capitalism has done more harm than good, well, I can only say that given the living status I might have had back in 1750, I’d rather have my status here in 2014.  I also believe that *I* should have the freedom to choose in a REAL Free Market environment what are the best values for me and NOT what is best for me as decided by others.  So WHAT if it is not the most “rational” decision (as some have maintained that we have too many choices) or that my decisions, in some very convoluted and disconnected manner, should be modulated by regulated by others because someone else maybe harmful in some way to someone else.  And that “maybe” (like the silly “Precautionary Rule” in pseudo science) should be the highest value over my voluntary choices.
