Everyone in New Hampshire Should Run Against Elected Democrats On This

Yesterday the Democrats in the New Hampshire house forced a vote on SSHB0001_i, medicaid expansion for New Hampshire.  By forced, I mean that no one was given the opportunity to read the bill they were being asked to vote on.  A bill that would tie New Hampshire tighter to the constraints of ObamaCare; a bill that would cost taxpayers millions perhaps tens of millions annually in the long run; a bill that creates dependence rather than encouraging growth and self-responsibility.

What is important about this is not so much the move to create even more dependence on the backs of New Hampshire families, though that is troubling, it is the arrogance of the left; using political force (a Democrat majority) to demand that people accept accountability for something this important without knowing the details.

As I understand it the motion to give reps time to read and digest what they were being asked to approve was voted down and in the end not one Republican voted for the bill.

Every Democrat voted for it without having seen it.  Cost didn’t matter.  Details didn’t matter.  Side effects, did not matter to them.

Why?

Collectivist lock-step.

They were told to vote for it.  They may have even been told it was necessary to advance their agenda.  They may have just been lied to, and knew better than to object.

Even if we forget, or just disregard the fact that they had no idea what was in the bill, if they did not know, neither did their constituents, so it is impossible for them to have the slightest idea what the people in their districts thought about it.  It was impossible for them to represent the interests of those who will inevitably be forced to pay for it.

Collectivist lock-step,, lest we forget, is how we got the disaster of progressive nationalized healthcare (ObamaCare).  Collectivist lock-step is why no one knew just what would happen when the the ruling class threw together a Democrat wish-list, packaged it as health insurance reform, lied to everyone to sell it–including each other–intimidated everyone else, and then forced it down the nations throat.  The result was predictable.  Skewing the market by force has affected choice, access, and cost, three things that we were promised would improve even though anyone with a basic understanding of economics and markets could not possibly convince themselves of this unless they had some other agenda.

If you have another agenda, why bother reading the bill?  If you have another agenda, the consequences are of little concern and are more likley the real goal and not side-effects at all.  If you have another agenda…

Enter the New Hampshire Democrats and the opportunity for Medicaid Expansion.  They didn’t want anyone to read the bill before it was voted on.  Why?  Because what they want has nothing to do with insuring any number of people for any reason.   It has to do with destabilizing the budget process to a severe enough degree that a broad based tax becomes inevitable.

Once we pull our finger out of that damn the revenue becomes less traceable and the lobbyists flock here like flies to shite to help spend it.

They will spend it all, and keep asking for more because there is no answer to the question–“how much government is enough.”  So there is no answer to the question – “how much of your labor (deprived of you in the form of taxes and fees) will be required to pay for a government whose scope has no definable limits?”

You area cow to be milked by people who feel no the inclination to protect the fields from which you feed.

If you are certain that it is acceptable to ask your representatives to vote on something like this, knowing they have no grasp of the details, then you are the sort of person who does not need to vote for an elected representative because you are content to let central planners execute their agenda at your expense without regard to the consequences to you, your family, or future generations.

You have given them rubber stamp to spend any portion of current or future earnings for you and posterity, and to deny you your rights at their convenience.

Most of you will not take much notice until the expanding power of the state begins poking holes in your comfy little bivouac.  You will not be stirred until the cossacks are at the gate.

Well I have some news for you.  People are losing their health insurance.  They are being forced to make untenable arrangements with premiums they cannot afford and deductibles that place reasonable care beyond their reach.   They are being pushed out of the plan and market they liked into the one created by the government for this very purpose. The cost of this program will expand exponentially–well beyond the lie told to pass it.  Doctors will retire, fewer will join the profession, hospitals and clinics will close, and while you may–in the end–have a very expensive plan that covers things you do not need but fails to cover the things you do, you will inevitably have no place to use it until the state takes control of all the doctors and hospitals in the country and forces them to provide care.

Have you ever been forced to something?  How well did you do it?

These things are inevitable.

And yet, these events are not coincidental.  They are the product of the passage of partisan legislation, on a party line vote, based on a series of promises that were lies, to advance an agenda that has nothing to do with caring for peoples health needs, now or ever.

And now New Hampshire Democrats following the lead of their Federal task-masters are duplicating the process here in the Granite State.

They will execute the plan with guilt, intimidation, and force–if necessary, until they get what they want; a massive new entitlement with a promissory note from a Federal government that can’t write a budget, spends a trillion more each year on average than it takes in, has added almost 8 trillion in debt in just five years–under Democrat majority rule, and has over 100 trillion in similar promises already, none of which it can keep.

Despite the risk of default on the promise, New Hampshire Democrats are going ahead full steam in pursuit of an obligation whose costs will be born almost certainly, and in much larger sums, by the taxpayers of the Granite State.  The first step was forcing a vote on legislation without being bothered to let the representatives read it and get input from their many constituents.  They have already convinced the Republican Senate to take accept the promissory note, strings and all, they are just going to have to dicker over the terms of surrender.  Governor Hassan would sign it in to law regardless of what came to her desk, as long as it said federal money if you sign me.

The bill is defined as, An Act Relative to access to health insurance coverage.  It is called the New Hampshire Access to Health Care Act.  It will ensure neither, nor is it intended to do that.  And there is barely the will left to stop it.

The only people who can possibly prevent this now are the taxpayers in our state.  The citizens and the families who will bear the cost burden of this on top of all the other burdens being placed upon them by the federal mismanagement of health insurance, all of them put in place without a care for the real cost, or the long term side-effects, merely to advance other parts of the Progressive Democrat Agenda.

The House Republicans would not vote on something they had not read and come to understand–and given the amount of money and the amount of government involved that was the right thing to do.  House Democrats know that the content of the bill is irrelevant becasue it is merely a means to another end.

That in itself should concern you more but do you care enough to do something to try and stop it?

Anyone thinking or running for office to stop this or future abuses, would do well to recall how the Democrats voted to ensure that no one would have a chance to read the bill before being asked to vote on it.

Nancy Pelosi pictured next to any NH Democrat, and the phrase “We didn’t know what was in it, but we voted for it anyway,” would go a long way come 2014.  That, vote fraud, Obamare…if we make it that far, the only way we could lose is if someone lets the NH-GOP or a State Senate Republican run their campaign.
