Democrats agree: Slavery by us is fine if it serves the “Common Good”

Obamacare-ScrewedI’ve been talking about this since before I posted this about what doctors in San Diego County (in the Democrat Ruled State of CA) were going to face at the advent of Obamacare:

Rather than mere head count, officials say they are scrutinizing what capacity physicians have to accept new patients. And to assist consumers, California will enable people to search for specific doctors online during enrollment to determine what, if any, health plans they will be part of in Covered California.

So, if everyone that Government has thrown into this new ill conceived Socialist program can’t get access, read the above again. If they close a program, what happens to everyone else? And like the Germans did recently when Obama returned to Berlin and accused him over the NSA spying with Stasi 2.0, is California going to have its own Stasi to snoop on doctors “Ve vill MAKE you see morrre peeps!” for Stasi 2.5?

First, you have to take more patients. And now, the outright admission by a Democrat candidate to the next level and advocating EXACTLY what I said they would:  making it illegal for doctors to not take Medicaid / Medicare patients.  The ramifications should scare us all – From the Mason Conservative (emphasis mine):

…But here is Kathleen Murphy, Democrat running for the House of Delegates against Barbara Comstock, telling a forum in Great Falls that she believes it should law to force doctors to accept Medicare and Medicaid patients. Forced by government decree, mind you. A birdie sent me this:

FYI last night at the Great Falls Grange debate, Democrat delegate candidate Kathleen Murphy said that since many doctors are not accepting medicaid and medicare patients, she advocates making it a legal requirement for those people to be acceptedDemocrats appear to want to make physicians slaves of the state, but Democrats don’t admit they would just drive more doctors out of practice into retirement and other occupations. The Obamacare law and regulations are causing millions of people to lose their health insurance, drop many doctors and hospitals. The HHS internal forecast is 93 million Americans would lose their health insurance due to the Obamacare law and rules about adequacy of insurance.

…The out of pocket costs required by Obamacare’s Silver Plan for a non-smoking mother and father with two children making a gross before income taxes of $50,000 (roughly average salary for VA) would be $13,765 per year including the deductible of $10,400. That’s 28% of their gross income — not very affordable and about the same as guidelines for a mortgage payment. For such a family making $100,000 of gross income, The cost would be $21,431 including the deductible of $12,700, or 21% of gross income.

With such high deductibles doctors are stuck with trying to collect cash from the patients, even at regulated charge structures. Thus is makes sense for primary care doctors not to participate in Obamacare, medicare and medicaid. They should encourage patients to participate in Concierge Care and insurance programs run by the doctors themselves with patients who can do simple math. Patients can take out catastrophic insurance with high deductibles for major surgeries. Tax deductability for individual medical savings accounts would make health care more affordable.

The Democrats have now laid out their plans into the open – that to serve the State’s purposes, to fulfill “The Plan”, it is perfectly acceptable to force someone to work for free.  Many doctors aren’t accepting Medicare or Medicaid patients because the reimbursements from The State (that would be either the Federal or the State governments) are below the cost of providing that service.  At best, this is saying to the medical community: you MUST provided charity – we are demanding your free labor.  In times past, that was called slavery; from the Collins English Dictionary:

  1. the state or condition of being a slave; a civil relationship whereby one person has absolute power over another and controls his life, liberty, and fortune
  2. the subjection of a person to another person, esp in being forced into work
  3. the condition of being subject to some influence or habit
  4. work done in harsh conditions for low pay

When you are forced by the State to work when you don’t wish to and under fiscal conditions that are detrimental to you, that is slavery.  I would bet that Progressives will be quick to say “Well, they make enough money already” (shades of Obama when HE said “At some point, you’ve made enough”) as if that was all the justification needed.  Are they willing to, for strictly ideological purposes, be willing to involuntarily indenture those that are deemed “valuable to the State”?  And once that slippery slope is breached, under the guise of the Left’s mantra that “everyone is valuable”, that this would be extended to everyone?

And then, what remains of Freedom and the question of “When is enough, enough?” will finally have been answered:

When the State has everything from everyone

It will be curious to see how the Democrats answer this new HUGE problem.

Quick Thought:  given that the Obamacare rate structures for those not qualifying for subsidies running almost $700 – $1,000 / month premiums with deductibles for those  running $10,000 to almost $13,000, isn’t it very clear that Obama is making slaves of the middle and upper middle class in redistributing the fruits of their labor to the “victims of society”?  And now, the retribution has begun (as is has always been with tyrannical governments) to severely punish those viewed as being “The Oppressors”.  Progressives have brought that Marxist ideology to our shores, Political Correctness shaped the battlefield, and the Welfare State became its beachhead.  Obamacare is now the full frontal assault against those deemed “the others” that must be beaten.  All the classic signs are now being seen (including the demonization, the lying, and the rabble rousing) except for one.

Our’s hasn’t reached the shooting stage – yet.
