An “Assault Weapons Ban In the Granite State

“Anything that is too stupid to be spoken is sung.” Voltaire

assault-weapons-ban-400x266Last week, as I was reading Londonderry Patch, I came across Marc Fortier’s October 29 entry entitled, “Assault Weapons Ban, Higher Speed Limits and Gambling“. Fortin writes, “New Hampshire lawmakers will debate these and other controversial issues in the upcoming legislative session.” Fortier also informs, “Friday was the deadline for members of the New Hampshire Senate to submit Legislative Service Requests for 2014.” I give a big hat tip to Marc Fortier because none of the mainstream newspapers have really talked about what is in store for Legislative Service Requests.

An Assault Weapons Ban in the Granite State…As I sat wrapping my head around the notion that a lawmaker actually has, “the balls,” to put in this LSR, I thought about what this particular legislation will accomplish. This bill will be good…Yes, that is what I said…it will be a good bill. “Oh my God! Rick Olson has gone completely off his rocker…He’s been drinking the Kool-Aid!!” No folks, not even close….I don’t believe a bill like this has even the remotest chance of passing and history is an excellent predictor.

During the whole Newtown tragedy, not one single lawmaker had the “big brass cajones” to bring forth such a bill. In New Hampshire, Gun Bills have been a game changer even for the most liberal anti-gun Kool-Aid drinking lawmakers. Even they have not had the guts to bring one forward.  Most legislators (especially RINO’s) bear considerable worry over gun bills.

This bill will be handy because even the most liberal anti-gun lawmaker who is bringing this bill forward will likely backpedal when the time comes with puke-dictum that goes something like this: “Oh, I had no hope the bill would pass, but I think we should have a conversation about assault weapons.”  Now, I don’t know about you folks, but I am not going to accept that notion for even 2 seconds and I am going to wear my fingers out on this keyboard nailing that lawmaker to the wall…I am going to wear my shoes out going to the statehouse…and I am going to wear my voice out talking about this lying simpering coward and the blissful ignorance he or she brings. I intend to hold that lawmaker fully accountable. If a lawmaker brings a bill, that lawmaker should possess the testicular fortitude to fall on his or her sword and defend that bill to the fullest extent…Sorry, not even the hint of a pass will come from me. I am already rolling up my sleeves and balling my fists…I live for these fights.

How about, “Oh, this was a constituent-requested bill…” Nope! not going to let a lawmaker hang his or her hat on that notion either. These are the words of cowards…spineless ones who will do anything, say anything to keep his or her seat.

Second, we the second amendment advocates have the right to demand each and every lawmaker fully articulate their position on such a bill clearly, unambiguously and forthrightly. We here in the blogosphere get to make some rules. And I make a rule that says, “If you stay silent on a bill you support and embrace it”

No more RINO’s hiding out, saying nothing, doing nothing. Lawmakers can take notice…I WILL be ambushing you with my Grok Camera and Microphone…and when you stumble or waiver, I WILL HAMMER YOU. If you duck me, I will only chase you down. I want to get you on camera running away being a coward.

There is no time like the present to sort the New Hampshire Republicans and rid them of their members who votes make the House and Senate look more akin to a European unicameral body.  Such a bill brought forth for we the advocate will be about kicking asses and taking names…And me and my ilk are already buying thick note pads and heavy boots.

New Hampshire Democrats know bills like this lose them elections. Were the inverse the case, they would never have been so silent during their tenure of house and Senate Control. I look forward to seeing who the prime sponsor of this bill is.

Lastly, in my capacity as president of both the New Hampshire Wildlife Federation and the 1,300 member Londonderry Fish & Game Club, I can tell you that sporting clubs and shooting ranges up and down and across this great state are busting at the seams with people seeking membership so that they may have a place to shoot. Since Newtown, sales of AR-15 platform rifles have been through the roof for fear of such bans. Just this bill, should it materialize, will reignite yet another rush to purchase these fine semi-auto rifles.

When it comes to gun control laws, we are right and you anti-gun liberals ARE WRONG. Gun Control laws do not work. The facts surrounding these laws do not help you, they only hurt you.  Statistics do not assist you and you all think lying and making stuff up changes that. Clearly, It does not.

You anti-gun libs think you can make the case again in the face of the solid evidence and you don’t even have the scruples to be embarrassed for being so very wrong. Your arguments are made up of whole cloth and clearly suggests notions of public safety always take a back seat to idiological concerns…A certain moral corruption.

Plan on the political beating…I live for those…the unity they bring…the reshuffling that results and wow,  I can feel the adrenaline rush just contemplating it.
