The odds of either of them doing this is…

WMUR…slim and none.  Methinks Pindell might have just been looking for a word count:

Jack Kimball/Jeff Chidester: If this pair of friends decides to publicly get behind someone in a Republican primary, it will serve as a clear signal to tea party activists of which way to go. Kimball is the former state Republican Party chair. Chidester is a radio talk-show host and the former state director for Michele Bachmann’s campaign. Guinta won the 2010 primary because of the inroads he made with the tea party, but that segment grew disappointed with some of his votes when he got into office. Innis might be too moderate for some of them, but if he earns their trust on national security and privacy issues — which he mentioned in his campaign announcement video — things could get very interesting. This assumes, of course, that Chidester isn’t running for the seat himself, something he is considering.

Knowing both well, I highly doubt that Guinta or Innis will get an endorsement here. Why?  Here’s some history and points Pindel left out:

  • but that segment grew disappointed” – are you serious?  Disappointed?  Substitute in the word that is commonly used in politics for bovine solid waste product and you might begin to come close to the level of ire that his name brings up..  Again, Guinta cavalierly gave the TEA Party / 9-12ers (who I believe put him into office in the first place) a big poke in the eye on his budget votes.  Yes, I’ve been continually bringing it up (because I HATE being used – and I feel that I was used and and I HATE being lied to – and I feel that happened as well) but I’m not the only one.  I met up with some folks this afternoon, and one person just about went ballistic on Guinta – and I hadn’t even brought him up yet (fun to pour gas on a fire, though).  Every pol may want buzz around his candidacy, but this ain’t what is wanted.

And remember this question going forward – did Guinta do ANYTHING to help Jack when the NH GOP Establishment dumped him as Chair?  There are a lot of folks who believe Guinta was part of the cabal then and nothing that his surrogates have said since has made any headway to dispel that – two strikes.

  • on national security and privacy issues” Here’s a reminder, James – the TEA Party concerns itself with:
  • Fiscal Frugality
  • Free Markets
  • A limited Government that lives and behaves with Constitutional strictures

and here in NH, that last one is an absolute commitment to the NH and US Constitutions.  Yes, there is a wide disparity on the social issues but remember, almost ALL social issues have fiscal costs and enlarge government

Sidenote: remember that, Senator Stiles, as you voted while on the Medicaid Expansion Committee to further the intrusion of the Federal government into State issues, enlarging the bureaucracy – the apothesis of limited government, and putting NH Taxpayers on the hook after the first couple of years when the $17 Trillion in-debt Feds basically say “We Lied”.

So, where does national security and privacy issues fit in there?  Certainly not in the primary set of issues that the TEA Party is concerned with – REMEMBER, Mr. Pindell – Taxed Enough Already.  What you offer as enticements to the TEA Party are not front and center – important, yes, but not frong and center.

  • that Chidester isn’t running for the seat himself, something he is considering.” – At that point, Guinta would be in HUGE trouble if Jeff could raise any kind of money at all – but worker bee activists would swarm to join his staff.  What this would mean to Innis is not clear at this time.

I can say that neither would excite this part of the base.  Especially when they are more scared of losing than standing up.
