In a less well know act of government vs. Journalists, a freelance reporter who had done investigative work on agencies under Homeland Security, had her home raided in early August. The search warrant was to look for arms or ammunition that the reporters husband was not supposed to have, but they managed to seize without right or knowledge a number of files that included the names of confidential informants who had provided details on scandles within Homeland Security.
The informants are now at risk. Anyone within the government who observes lies, corruption, or wrong doing, has been sent another message–we will find you.
In a nation where the state can make up a reason to search your possessions and papers (even with a warrant) and then walk out with whatever they want. Where the IRS, or any agency, can be sent with the blessings of the Chief Executive, after opponents…government can and will do whatever it pleases and punish anyone who dare speak of it.
When high ranking party members in the government-class commit legitimate wrongs they are never punished, simply transferred, sometimes promoted, the scandal is mocked. The government stonewalls, hides details, delays compliance with requests for evidence, refuses to allow witness testimony, runs counter-propaganda campaigns against the investigators, until they give up looking for the truth or it reaches its shelf life in a nation with a short attention span. Maybe they intimidate a few journalists and send a message for any current or future whistle-blowers.
Hollywood makes movies about the reporters who don’t back down and the insiders who help them. They style them as heroes. Funny how they are the ones who are, for the most part, financing the party that is running all this domestic terrorism via government. Making excuses. Looking the other way.
While Democrat party leaders, czars, cabinet leaders, and political darlings are presumed “victims of partisan attacks” and excused for grand acts of incompetence, fraud, and corruption the regular people are presumed to have done some wrong to justify a raid, have their property seized, are perhaps jailed for making a video no one ever saw to add credence to a government lie, or for holding the wrong sign at a campaign event. They have their reputations destroyed, their relationships compromised, their friends and family warned off for fear of being targeted themselves. They are intimidated into silence or inaction.
You are living in that nation right now, and whether it is deliberate or simply a natural result of behemoth bureaucracies and the police states favored by Democrat progressives, it makes no difference on your end. No one is safe. Everyone is a target. It is only a matter of time before you piss off the right person.
