And Progressives want you to give them MORE power? - Granite Grok

And Progressives want you to give them MORE power?

  • US Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid denying a little child ill with cancer the help she needs
  • President Obama’s shutting down “open air” memorials that honor our Veterans.
  • NH CongressCritters Kuster, Shea-Porter, and Shaheen voting against money for WIC and TANF that helps “the most vulnerable amongst us”.

In fact, Democrats are pretty much voting against anything that would release the shutdown chokehold.  Now, don’t get me wrong – some departments should be kept shutdown in a large way – the States can handle these functions (e.g., EPA – we have an NH DES, DoEd – we have our own NH Dept of Education) and should.  Others as well.  In most of these cases, the money reality is that the above money is “power grabbed” from the States to begin with, and then “extorted” back (to use a Democrat word du jour) to us – with strings / cables attached.  But I digress.

My, how the Democrat political agenda can turn on a time when it is expedient not to follow it?  All we ever hear from these folks, and folks that think and talk just like them, that the only salvation for all of our ills is more and more and more government.  Never mind where the money comes from to do it, just “trust us” – we’ll GIVE you a solution, we will take CARE of you – really!  Until it is time when they don’t want to – for mere politics.

And this is what happens, can happenm, when you put too much power into a centralized government that doesn’t listen to us little people when that central authority is run by people who, surPRIZE!, have a political agenda that rises over what they actually say. And the Democrats are currently are a great example of it now.  They promised you EVERYTHING – and now are refusing it.  Hypocrisy, much?  The House Republicans have offered CR after CR after CR to ameliorate each and every problem the Senate  Dems have come up with – and the latter have refused to “fix the problem”.

I’ve said it, Steve has said it, Scott has said it, Mike has said it, Don has said it, and Susan has said it – dependency sucks.  And when you vote in politicians and given them power beyond their wild imagination, they will use it and often, it will be used to screw you when it is needful for them. Or, just because. And remember, they’ve been promising solutions for poverty since the 60’s and spending trillions of dollars – and still have failed.  And they still want more power and have more dependency over you.

Make yourself independent of ALL power hungry politicians (of any stripe) that promise you anything to get elected.  Instead, look to be self-sufficient personally.  In your town, vote for those that advocate to lessen your town’s dependency on outside money.  Ditto for County and State level.  And then when either Party in DC has a snit fit, you can be sitting prettier than those completely dependent in the Government Hammock.

And remember, the REAL problem, the debt ceiling, is fast approaching.  This little shananigan is just that – the Big Show is in 2 weeks.  More later.
