Who is supposed to be in charge here??

WE own it – not you!  WE own it – not Government.  You are MERELY the caretakers of our stuff – learn your place!

We often show much deference to those that work in Government – and generally more to elected officials (I think more so the higher the office and the further away they are – which makes NH so special as we just treat them just like the folks down the street).  But certainly, from my view point as one of those citizens that the DC based politicians love to lay the Hate on (um, a probably more than a few, on both sides of the aisle, here in NH ’cause I seldom keep quiet) simply because I stand for a limited government that spends within its citizens’ means and within Constitutional boundaries and values.  And a government that knows its Proper Role – which it does not seem to understand anymore at the Federal level.  From what I see of Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi (and yes, some on the Republican side as well) et al.

Another story like that of Obama refusing to let the WW II Vets into their own memorial – Great Smokey National Park (emphasis mine, reformatted):

So, we still plan to hike in Great Smoky National Park, but we have chosen a trail where we can park outside the park on private land and then hike into the park. We intend to defy any ranger we meet who tries to stop us, but by not putting a vehicle in a vulnerable position under their control, we give them less power over us in such circumstances.

Finally, I want to make one more point. This is the United States of America, supposedly “the land of the free and the home of the brave.” Yet, in my essay above I describe how American citizens are either hiding from or protecting themselves from agents of our government, even though they have done nothing wrong. When I was growing up such behavior was unthinkable. Not only was no one afraid of the federal government, if a federal agent or federal elected official tried to impose such restrictions on Americans they knew they would be in big trouble, almost instantly. Thus, they were very careful to respect the rights of the citizens, and such oppressive behavior was rare.

Today, however, such behavior is becoming common. And it carries no bad consequences for the government and officials who do it. One would think this was the Soviet Union, not America.  We should all be ashamed. And we should all be enraged at President Obama for encouraging this to happen.

Yet another sad state of affairs – when citizens fear their government and are reduced to using language as “defy”?  Who owns this government – us or them?  Who holds the power?  Authority Transfer – that was the phrase that Dr. Cooper used during GrokTALK! this past Saturday when talking about the stealth process of the educational system called Common Core (and what I wrote about with CA teachers using their students as proxy government agents to change their parents) – a process of undermining the authority of Parents, their morals, and their responsibility to be responsible for their children.  Are we seeing yet another manifestation of Obama’s “fundamentally transforming” America?  From a place where the ordinary citizen expected to be served by their public servants to one where we are supposed to just obey?

To that latter point – obey.  I cannot think of a better example that would be known here in NH than the town halls that Carol Shea-Porter ran during the run up to Obamacare passing.  And at this one, berating a Senior Citizen that his time was up (the “down her nose” part being she chewed up all his time in not answering his question) – watch the video for her “holier than thou / Don’t you known I know better than you” ‘tude.  Smarmy teach losing her mind in having to teach children was the message and take away.
