This could get REAL interesting on Wednesday

A while ago, a Muslim group called  AMPAC, announced a “Million Muslim March” in DC on 9/11 (reformatted, emphasis mine):

The American Muslim Political Action Committee is hosting what it hopes will be a gathering of one million people in Washington, D.C., on the 12th anniversary of 9/11 to urge the government to reveal “the truth” about the attacks.  “We want to hold President Obama accountable for his empty promises of creating a transparent government,” march organizer Isa Hodge told U.S. News. “What exactly have we spent all our money, lost lives and taken lives for? The entire record of the 9/11 Commission has never been released.” Protesters will also denounce “FBI traps,” “illegal tapping and surveilling of Muslim Americans” and “media propaganda making the word terrorist synonymous with Muslim,” he said. The march was announced as the “Million Muslim March” earlier this year, but its name has since been changed to the “Million American March Against Fear,” according to Hodge.

Two Million Riders to DCYeah, the name was changed (er, whitewashed) due to the bad PR they got when it was announced (I remember a big blow out for them when a representative went on Hannity).  Then the bikers caught wind of it and a group called “2 Million Bikers to DC” sprang up – many of them vets who fought Islamic Jihadis in Iraq and Afghanistan (and other “kill ya if I tell ya” places).  They knew what this march meant – and got a tad cross over it.  Their response?  Well, I reviewed some of the comments and they are not Politically Correct (yeah, some folks would have a cow over them).  In fact, some would call it hate speech.  And try to stop them from going (after all, the Left cannot tolerate any dissent).

And they did – the National Park Service, that is – and the reaction is shown below (love that “Uncle Sam’s Misguided Children” logo on the right hand side, aka “we take no crap from no one ’cause we already put our lives on the line for the USA”):

The National Parks Service (NPS) denied a biker organization’s request for a permit to ride through the nation’s capital on September 11, in honor of ”those who were killed” during the 2001 terrorist attacks, an NPS spokesperson confirmed to TheBlaze Monday. Carol Johnson, spokeswoman for the NPS, cited logistical concerns for denying the permit:

“They (the NPS) looked at it (the permit application) and decided it would cause a severe service disruption of traffic both inside and outside the area around the mall,” said Johnson, who added “[I] wish the bikers would leave me alone.”

The mall is where the Million Muslim March was to end.  But this “mixing” of Muslims protesters and the bikers protesting them wasn’t what the National Park Service was going to allow – and it seems, they made up an excuse

“The size of the event, we can’t manage,” Johnson said. “We couldn’t provide adequate park police services and park police escorts and it would require a lot of road closures so it was denied.”

There’s more at The Blaze, but I’m not so sure that the bikers are going to take a “no”.  In fact, they’re still planning on showing up according to this:

Washington DC has DENIED our permit for a no-stop ride through Washington DC. We find this regretful for the residents and businesses of that great city, and humbly offer our apologies. What could have been a one or two hour ride through will now likely be an all day event. We will be obeying all laws. We will be stopping at all stoplights, stop signs, and yielding to all pedestrians.

RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES OF WASHINGTON DC: On behalf of the National “2 Million Bikers to DC” Team, please accept our sincere apologies. We did the right thing and went through the proper channels to secure a no-stop permit to ride through your great city. We wanted to ride an established route, which would have taken us past the Viet Nam Memorial to the Lincoln Memorial, across the bridge into Virginia, and that’s it! We would have been completely out of Washington DC, and your city would have been back to normal.

Really, what CAN they do – it is legal to go to Washington DC as a tourist and drive around and see the sights.  I laughed when I read this, for what immediately came to mind is what Saul Alinsky engineered at Chicago O’Hare: in a dispute with the City, he brought in a whole bunch of folks and then had them in the bathrooms everytime a new plane would land and the crowds were coming off the jetway and heading to those rooms.  Yes, it was not a pleasant time for those passengers – but perfectly legal.

Belinda Bee, the event organizer, told TheBlaze she was initially told by Sheila Gotha, from the NPS permits division, the group’s permit was denied not for technical reasons, but because their event was slated for a weekday “and D.C. residents aren’t going to like that.”

However, in a phone call with TheBlaze Monday, Gotha denied having made those comments or having any knowledge about why their permit was denied.  “I don’t know anything about this, so that’s a lie,” said Gotha. “I don’t have nothing to do with it… I don’t even know what you are talking about.”  An email forwarded to TheBlaze by Bee, however, appears to show that Gotha was one of the NPS officials who participated in a meeting regarding the biker organization’s request for a permit. In fact, the email says she was the “organizer” of the meeting to review the biker group’s request for a permit.

Should make for an interesting 9/11.
