Democrats and Ray Buckley (NH Dem Chair) here in the Live Free or Die state know that if they really ran their campaigns on the issues that they later sponsor legislation on, they’d be dead ducks. Did they run on gay civil unions, or gay marriage, or Deputy Dawg’s gun control? Nope – not a peep until their butts were in place after they campaigned liked they were TEA Party folks (with some notable exceptions in the Primaries when State wide candidates were waging a “Holy Progressiver than thou” cat fight).
Nope, as much as Steve would love to pull out the popcorn and laugh and snort as the results come in, no Dem with even an enfeebled brain cell is going to actively and come out of the closet to run on a completely anti-, confiscatory gun platform. T’aint gonna happen. They KNOW if they did (as well as with the above and other Progressive issues), they’d lose. So, they lie.
So take it from Chuck Todd, former Democratic staffer and now uber-journalist for NBC / MSNBC (funny how often that works, that revolving door between the MSM and Democrat Party – right Colin?) – they won’t do it. After all, those two Democrat Colorado State Senators, both safely ensconced in Democrat districts, had their buttstocks handed to them (even as their side outspent the Second Amendment defenders by a margin of 6-1 with Nanny Bloomberg chipping in $350K of that):
