Obama “yakking” with Rouhani – why do I think this is merely a replay of Clinton & North Korea?

Iran – that’s the country that violated our sovereign territory, invaded our embassy, and held our hostages while Jimmy Carter was President.  Iran – the country that has been refining uranium in sufficient quality and quantity to build the bomb that could carry out their oft screamed promise to wipe Israel off the map.  The country that supplied Al Qaeda (Iraq) and the Taliban (Afghanistan) with weapons that were used to kill our soldiers – including the shaped charged explosives just a little bit of time ago.  And just got caught hacking our Navy’s computers.

Obama believes that he, Lurch Kerry, and TOTUS can just wave their arms, say the “soft power” words, and Iran will snap into Obama’s line.

No negotiations – no preconceived needs – in order to have these TRUE theocrats to speak to the President of the United States on equal terms – AS equals.  In the past, with strong Presidents with a strong US with a strong reputation, this would never have EVER happened.  Well, with Obama’s policy of Determined Weakness, it does seem that Obama has brought America’s reputation to, pretty much, equal with Iran’s.

“I believe we can reach a comprehensive solution,” says Obama.  No, this is more of “Getting hoodwinked….eyes wide open”. This will end badly, as we seemingly have established no leverage (and worse, didn’t want to).  It is just more of the diminished status that Obama has brought to the United States:

“We want American leadership,” said a member of a diplomatic delegation of a major U.S. ally. He said it softly, as if confiding he missed an old friend.

“In the past we have seen some America overreach,” said the prime minister of a Western democracy, in a conversation. “Now I think we are seeing America underreach.” He was referring not only to foreign policy but to economic policies, to the limits America has imposed on itself. He missed its old economic dynamism, its crazy, pioneering spirit toward wealth creation—the old belief that every American could invent something, get it to market, make a bundle, rise. The prime minister spoke of a great anxiety and his particular hope. The anxiety: “The biggest risk is not political but social. Wealthy societies with people who think wealth is a given, a birthright—they do not understand that we are in the fight of our lives with countries and nations set on displacing us. Wealth is earned. It is far from being a given. It cannot be taken for granted. The recession reminded us how quickly circumstances can change.” His hope? That the things that made America a giant—”so much entrepreneurialism and vision”—will, in time, fully re-emerge and jolt the country from the doldrums.

In that the country voted for Obama twice, yes, America has put limits on itself.  No, not just legislatively but by putting a Marxist influenced man into the Oval office who promised to “fundamentally transform” America and his minions at the levels of power within the bureaucratic State (re: “I saw power lying there in the street – I merely picked it up” – Lenin), have we decided to hollow ourselves from without and from within?
