Data Point - with no "stop N 'frisk" in NYC for 30 days, how did crime go? - Granite Grok

Data Point – with no “stop N ‘frisk” in NYC for 30 days, how did crime go?

No surprises here.  Even in the short time (28 days since a judge all but outlawed most stop and frisk contacts) crime is up:

  • 13% increase in shootings: 140 vs 124 same period last year.
  • 9% increase in gunshot victims: 164 vs 150 same period last year

And yes, most cops have “walked away” from the technique – they see the personal lawsuits a coming if they do.

So, if you are of the criminal bent, why worry about getting stopped before or after with a certain hunk of metal / plastic on your person?  Seems that many of your “co-workers” think the same.

If the “unconstitutional” ruling sticks, so be it.  However, it proves that life is about risk, principle, and consequences.  It may be illustrative to see how this plays out especially where NY State under Governor Cuomo decided to severely limit your ability to pack heat to countermand this threat. Me?  These are folks that voluntarily have decided to live in a dense urban area.  Just remember, the Federal Departments of HUD, EPA, and DOT want us all to involuntarily live in the same conditions.

I do wonder, then, if the Federal Government wants to kill us all?  Progressive Government policies seem to indicate that, yes?
