The TEA Party is Left’s whipping boy – even for issues not involving the TEA Party

Gadsden FlagIssues that define the TEA Party movement?

  • Fiscal frugality on the part of Government
  • Constitutional boundaries – limits to Government (to protect us from Government)
  • Free Markets

So, in advance of yesterday’s March on Washington on the 50th anniversary of MKL’s “I have a Dream” speech, what topic did a nationally known feminist blame the TEA Party for?

Yeah, abortion.  I also dryly note the irony where this blame was made:

Eleanor Smeal, president of the Feminist Majority Foundation, blamed the Tea Party for efforts nationwide to limit abortion and protect religious objection to contraceptives.  “We’re going to fight back,” Smeal said at the Black Women’s Roundtable and Black Youth Vote event on Thursday in Washington, D.C., to mark the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s ‘I Have a Dream’ speech. “We are not going to give up the ground we have right now, but most importantly, we must go forward.

“We cannot lose a generation to the Tea Partiers,” Smeal said.

That’s rich – “cannot lose a generation“.  In fact, multiple generations, approximately 50 million innocents, have been killed already by these people who apparently have no concern for those young lives.  Smeal just wants to keep on killing them – such a motivation for fighting: a culture of death.  And it’s always Forward with these people – shoving OTHERS into the maws of death.  Just an extension of Sandra Fluke’s demand for contraception – after the fact.  And she takes it as an affront that others don’t agree with the Agenda of Death?

And the ultimate irony “the Black Women’s Roundtable and Black Youth Vote event” – Margaret Sanger would be proud as the Mother of Abortion here in the US.  Her intention was to “cull the population” – that of the black community first.

We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.

And she was the start of Planned Parenthhood – good to know.  I wonder if the attendees at that meeting would think that was ‘goodness’ and that Smeal is the ideological descendent of Sanger?  But I digress.

No, abortion is not one of the issues of the TEA Party – and either Smeal hasn’t bothered to do her homework or that “TEA Party” is just a convenient political bogeyman.  Yes, many TEA Partiers are socially conservative and many are living their lives based on strong religious values that say this is wrong.  Still, throwing this out just means that Smeal is running out of answers – and those to demonize.
