Not satisfied with the spate of embarrassing escapades by some of the lefty leaders and celebrity mouth pieces, the blue hoi polloi are getting in on the act. As Mike posted earlier, there were throngs of people that held birthday parties for The One this past Sunday.  Complete with cakes, balloons and a heavy dollop of propaganda. Okay that may not be weird. Wait. No, that is weird. Who does that?

That’s up there with the “Life of Julia”, the “remember your first time voting for Obama” ad, and the solicitation asking your friends and family to contribute to Obama instead of giving you a wedding gift. Idolatry for a political hack is indeed nauseating even if the pol was particularly accomplished– and we know, O does not fit in the “accomplished” category, but more on that latter. First, the creepiness.

The ability of the other side to ratchet up the creepy factor is not confined to any political or seasonal cycles. Rather, it’s an ever blooming weird weed that sprouts bizarre and creepy incongruities regularly. Previously, I didn’t think they were always this way. Now I’m rethinking that understanding and chalking it up to another take down by the turbo-information age in which we live. Yes, the left has always been this bonkers, but we just weren’t aware of the breadth nor depth of their bonkerdom prior to them having the ability to self promote their zaniness through social networking, ubiquitous camera’s, and other devices.

We all knew it occasionally manifested itself in the inarguably bawdy creepiness. I mean c’mon think of two big Dem idols: Kennedy and Clinton. ’nuff said. But we were spared the images and the most salacious details. Those times are gone as egregiously demonstrated by Anthony Wieners indiscretions. Spitzers prostitute predilections and Filner’s (felonious?) fealty to the foreign female form. But those were the political leftists leaders. They’re supposed to be nuts. It goes with the territory. Now we’re being exposed to the needy weirdness of their foot soldiers and it’s not materializing in the form of drum circles, protests, and exceedingly hairy woman like before.

No, it’s coming in forms of idolatry.  And given the absence of much success by this administration, this type of idolatry simply stems from hyper blinkered partisanship that forbids the sight of reality.

I mean, idolatry for a politician is pathetic and nauseating, but I think I could understand it better if the politician was at least accomplished.  So, you’re a fan and you stare longingly at the retro Obama Hope poster on your bedroom ceiling, replay endlessly the sound clips of his 2008 Berlin speech, and you even have your master bathroom bathtub book-ended by Styrofoam faux Greek columns reminiscent of the one’s Denver acceptance speech for his first term, but that was then– when hope was in bloom and not wilted by the string of serious policy failures. I mean, where are Obama’s successes? What success can one objectively point to that justifies going full-bore creep out and holding a birthday party for a politician?

If it were me and I was an Obozophile, I wouldn’t be too happy with his scandal ridden tenure, nor his Oboma-nomics which is another name for protracted economic stasis, his engorged debt, nor his enormously large unemployment numbers.

I wouldn’t be happy with is foreign policy either. The Russian reset was a failure, Syria flips us the bird while remaining in power after O said he had to go, and Iran f@rts in our general direction. The distilled version: we’re no longer respected in the world (something I believe he promised to rectify, but in fact exacerbated) by friends, enemies or the incontinent. This will not end well.

Happy about the War on Terror, or what ever he calls it? Well, up until the closing of dozens of embassy’s would have been a teensy-weensy plausible argument for the cake eaters. But he did say when he was running for reelection that he killed Bin Laden and Al Qaeda is on the run. Well, as it turns out, he was way off. And as was said the other day, it is us who is now on the run demonstrated by closing of embassies in 19 countries.

So why celebrate the birthday of a politician that hasn’t accomplished much, save for the disuniting of America of course?  That will be one of his legacies no doubt. The “us against them” crisis creation spurned on by this administration to help push his progressive, leftist agenda through has fractured and splintered the country among many dimensions: rich v poor, left v right, black v white, union v non- union, legal immigrant v illegal immigrant, government class v non-government class and on and on. I guess that’s what they’re celebrating. A target rich environment ready for exploitation by a lawless, power hungry demagogue to further their agenda and decimate the country. That’s an odd thing to show appreciation for. But this is a creepy bunch, so it’s to be expected.
