As Twitchy points out (read the tweets and the comments they are all good), Media Mattress is trying to spin up business for Matt Damon’s Elysium by selling it as a movie that “forces the right to confront the world their ideology creates.”
Sony should slap that on a poster and see how many tickets it sells.
If you haven’t heard, “Elysium” features Damon trying to escape a future earth that looks a lot like Detroit for an orbiting paradise called Elysium, where rich Hollywood types live in luxury like they do here on earth.

The top down progressive-corporatist arrangements the Left favor are the fuel that feeds the aristocratic two-class system which Damon’s character is purportedly fighting against. it is the model of rule that has dominated the scope of human history, and which has only briefly been paused by the advent of the Constitutional Republic, the rule of law, property rights, and natural rights–as opposed to rights only granted by the connected political-class to the serfs who suffer their rule.
Elysium took in 30 million in its opening weekend, making it number one at the box office, but it needs to cover about 120 million just to break even. If Media Mattress thinks it can push Damon’s hopey-changey vehicle over the cliff by insulting a majority of the nation, have at it. They have already convinced me not to see it.
