“Government is the word for the stuff we do together” (and yes, we WILL do everything together)

From Hot Air rips apart a post over at The Daily Beast that says “we all can pay more for our burgers at Mickey D’s to lift the employees out of poverty – and nails the underlying philosophical stupidity on the head:

One point which seems to confuse the social justice battalion is this idea they seem to be stuck on that there is some sort of obligation or social contract which states that industry is obligated or intended to create jobs, and good paying ones at that. The fact is, job creation was never one of the driving factors in the evolution of industry. It was only a happy side effect.

Jazz has THE point – both the Liberal and Progressive wings of the Democrat Party (and with the takeover of the Party by the extremist Socialism that is the New Left, isn’t that just one in the same?) see Government as being the ultimate balm on Society’s ills – it just lacks sufficient money to give all people all the things they believe to be necessary (e.g., EBT cards in MA with $7,000 limits, and MA Gov Deval Patrick’s attempt to have cars issued to those on welfare).  They see where the money is – business – and are upset that it isn’t “all ours together”).  There is little sense of the Right of Private Property with these anti-Americans (and I say that for America was very much built on the principle of Private Property and that government could not just “take it” as the Kings of yore used to do.   These latter day Neo-Feuldalists  problem is that they hate capitalism and business just as badly as the original Royalty did – even as the Royalty of the time thought, how do we put these upstarts into their proper place?  So while they see capitalism as being evil and nasty, they know it to be necessary but wish to control it completely.  And thus, use the levers of Government to “make it so”.

And get totally ticked when business owners don’t get with the program.  How DARE they not pay the wages we think they should (yet, seldom do we see them starting a competing business and actually pay the wages they talk about).  Instead, you can be sure that they will try harder and more rapidly accelerating transmogrification of businesses into just another arm of Government – just as former charities sold out their souls and became “social services organization” that are, in large part, dependent on tax monies (and yes, when a Budget Committee member in my town, one of the heads of such an organization said that they were part of our town government – but changed her tune as soon as I said “Great – before we give you the money you want, bring in your books so I can analyze them…..she got all huffy like and stormed out since I called her bluff).  Think me wrong?  How often do you hear the anti-Walmart folks kvetch that Walmart doesn’t pay enough to keep its employees off the welfare rolls?

Jazz at Hot Air has it exactly right – these Socialists believe that corporations ARE under some kind of obligation to keep their employees from being in poverty – and never take into account different skill sets, motivation, or the like.  Nor that jobs ARE inequal in responsibilities and are paid correspondingly.

But tell me – has ANYONE ever see this vaunted “social contract” of which they speak?  Or the different versions – because it seems to morph all on its own and is never the same twice over, right?  And the Left keeps trying to whack the Right with it all the time – and it mostly works because the Right hasn’t figured out the jui-jitsui to turn it back on them.  Psst – there is only one – its called the Constitution.  Anything else is simply the Lefty trying to impose their guilt on you.  Don’t fall for it.  It is their way to make sure that they drag you into their believe of “do together“.

BTW, wanna drive them crazy?  Go read the post at Hot Air, and then if you get into “discussion” with one of these folks, ask them “And how much do you overpay for your meals?  After all, it is for the poor!  And did you tell their managers to sweeten up their paychecks for your efforts?”

I can guarantee they will walk away…
