And that was how fast ad revenue was failing for the dead wood newspaper marketplace (and thus, an opportunity?):

Me?  Certainly the Internet is a good part of the reason.  I think another is the rise of the segmentalization of the news – as in WHY would I want to watch MSNBC or read the NYT, the news magazines formerly known as Time or Newsweek,  that either continuously insults my ideas or beliefs or goes for the throat and insults me directly?

Actually, I think it is that latter point driving this – ask most conservatives and they will mostly agree that almost ALL of the national MSM outlets hate conservatives and that the regional / local ones aren’t much better (just look at the percentage of which political party gets the 90+% of political donations from their newsrooms).  After all, descending from $1.3 billion to $70 million sales price should be telling the MSM something.  But are they locked so far into their mindset that they can’t see it anymore?
