Data Point – Obamacare still not liked

Obamare is still hatedI guess that’s why Obama is about to spend $750 million to convince is “Smile!  It’s GOOD for you!”.  From Powerline, this part of a poll on Obamacare, a commentary on “government shutdown” or Obamacare.  There’s nobody that has submitted legislation aligned with this question, it is still an interesting result from LIVs that wouldn’t know the difference between legislation and a continuing resolution (this time on the debt ceiling).

Interesting breakdown by age for shutting the Feds down to repeal Obamacare: 18-29:  57% ; 30-44:  49% ; 45-64: 41% ; 65+: 50% for shutdown

Is it possible that the Young, that HAVE to sign up for policies that are priced not for their needs but to pay for the elderly and sickly, have figured out this new Ponzi scheme (Social Security and pensions being two other prime examples – promises to the otherwise).

Thus, it seems, the tendency of the Republicans to automatically take up the mantle of French surrender monkeys, should be held in check.  In fact, I’m betting that the base, if they adopted the word “Fearless” and actually acted like that adjective, might actually win the issue.  Or is it the case when one is an Establishment Republican, there is no such word in describing a stand for principles?  Or do either of the phrases “Don’t make waves” or “Go along to get along – because the MSM won’t like us” come to the fore?  And then lose the 2014 races?

I still have yet to hear what the “alternative method” that Karl Rove has discussed – and I have no idea what that would be.  Passing yet another “we repeal” in the House won’t make it.  The “wait to fight later” is a weasel tactic towards the base as well – you can do NOTHING in the current environment legislatively (while Obama will continue to make more and more Royal Decrees).  Taking a veto proof majority control of the House and the Senate seems far-fetched: the noise about this and providing amnesty and citizenship to illegal aliens is NOT going to motivate the Conservative base to come to vote for you (once again, think I’m kidding?  Ask Frank Guinta).  The only other way is to take the House, a filibuster proof Senate, and the White House – and you can’t do that until 2016 IF at all and by then, all of the gimme folks will have their entitlement crack.  And you guys will NEVER, EVER have the spines or the brass ones to legislate Obamacare away.  Got news fer ya – this is the last best chance to stop Obamacare and the Repubs in the House HAVE the tool to make it happen.

So here we are again – back to the words CONSISTENCY and TRUST.  So, here we are again: you folks in DC and the Party apparatchiks have made all kinds of promises to kill Obamacare – will you keep them? Or are you going to punt once again now that the opportunity comes up?  Yes, an opportunity to show what you actually stand for.  After all, with the OPM making the ruling that you up there on the Hill, contra to the actual Obamacare law (thank you, Congressman Grassely, for trying to make our leaders eat their own dog food) that the Feds will pay for your medical plans instead of being out in the Obamacare Exchanges, like we are?

Principles – or politics as usual.  Decisions have Consequences – what pain point will you choose?
