About The Looming Government Shutdown…

DoE Money pit - Obama and Duncan keep shoveling it into the bottomless holeWhen the deficit was 9.x trillion, and we were spending a lot less than a trillion per year on the budget (back in the less than halcyon days when we not only had a budgt but had to have a budget), Democrats were whining about expensive wars and the burden we were putting on working families and our kids.

I realize that after seven years of Democrats more or less owning congress and five years with Obama as President, working and family have taken on a new meaning.  One is a racist term and the other bigoted.  But still, we hear about these mystical working families that Democrats claim to be defending…from working and being a family, is all I can figure.

Where was I?  Budgets, deficits, spending… oh my…

Now that annual federal spending is always over a trillion a year and we are not technically fighting any wars (not like we were, unless you count actions against Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, in America, oh, never mind) and we’ve got almost 17 trillion in debt, why is it the world will end if the government doesn’t agree to spend even more money than it is spending already?

We had a sequester and the spending didn’t stop, nor did much else, though the Administration tried awfully hard to make it appear as if we’d pushed park rangers off a cliff.  Didn’t happen!  Almost no one noticed or felt the effect of the sequester, but I digress.

If 9 trillion was the end of the world, why isn’t 16.89 (whatever) trillion the end of time and space as we know it?  I know, our debt exceeds 100% of GDP so… I must be a racist.  I promise you, I am not.  I could care less that Obama is a half-cracker from a privileged class coddled by globe hopping international elites.   It really is all about the spending to me, or more accurately the taxing that follows the spending to pay for the spending that will have to paid for.  That was what the Democrats were supposed to be upset about some 7 trillion Obama-dollars ago.

Or were they just upset about how low the debt was?  Was that it?

They didn’t sell it that way, but the minute they had both houses of Congress and the White house, they jacked that mother up so fast it made people’s heads spin.

And you know what.  It’s going to collapse under its own weight so you need to do something where you can because DC is no longer answering the 3am phone call, the 9am phone call, they are not answering anything…regardless of party.  There’s just a message on the machine that says SPEND! SPEND! SPEND!

That’s your money, your kids money…you need a security wall from impending Federal failure.  You need to free what matters to you from that fiscal disaster.

Your state needs to be more self-reliant.  That means less Federal handouts.  Then, if  the Federal government shut down for months you’d never really notice.

Yes, most of the essential services are funded, shutdown or not.  There’d still be people there, wasting your money, like at the Department of Education that is redundant to the tune of what, $70 billion dollars a year?  Oh, yeah.  Not one state has a single school board at any level that could do a better job of spending $70,000,000,000.00 billion–or their share of it–than a bunch of pencil-pushers in DC.  (At least your money would be closer to home where you could have more say in how it was spent!)  But think about that.  Democrats won’t let you touch that budget…for the children.  It’s not for the children, that money is for a useless, boondoggle Federal agency and its trouble-making staff.  They don’t do a damn thing that is worth 72 Billion unless making your kids dumb and increasing local costs is one damn thing.  That’s two damn things actually, neither good.

But if you try to touch that budget, not cut it but just keep it from increasing the Democrats and unions and lobbyists freak out.  SO what does that say to you?  It says “parents, local teaches, and local school boards are too damn stupid to manage educating their own kids–something we were actually much better at before the Department of Education even existed.

Nope.  Can’t cut that budget, cuz you too stoopid to spend it rite.  $70 billion?

Most of those other departments are just as much a waste of time, spending billions per year to make your day cost more, and by the looks of things, making everything harder to do, more expensive, and your life more difficult on top of that.

Nope.  Can’t shut the government down.  States are full of morons.

Maybe they are.  They keep electing the Democrats who doubled the budget and the deficit so that you couldn’t find work, or a full time job, and could pay twice as much for gas, food, insurance, everything. In New Hampshire we keep electing Democrat governors who are willing to give away the store to the feds…

Wait.  Most of these voters went to public school right?  Overseen by the Department of Education?  Well there’s you answer.
Shut it down, cut it off, find a way to free your state from the tendrils of incompetence or at least limit the exposure to risk that the out of control federal government represents.  You owe it to your citizens to protect them from the painful reality that has to come. Democrats won’t let you but make them defend that.

Ask them why 17 trillion in debt is not irresponsible when 9 trillion was.

Ask them why where the money to pay that debt is coming from?

Ask them why their own state and their own people are not better able to address their needs;why must they “off-shore” everything to DC?

Ask them why they are not working harder to keep the money we earn in New Hampshire instead of insisting that we go repeatedly on bended knee to DC to gt some of it back?

Ask them why we must be the slave and not the master?
