Obama: the Anti-President

Hugh Hewitt (talk show host, author, lecturer, lawyer) has a column in the Washington Examiner today: “Is Obama the worst president ever?

Since 1979 and the acquiescence of the transfer of Iran to religious zealots with world-enders and Hidden Imam-summoners among them, I didn’t think it was possible for an American president to be ranked below Jimmy Carter on the competence list.

But now we have Obama, with double the years that Carter had to more than double the wreckage of the Carter era. Obama is working on his place in history every day, and every day he is making that ranking more secure.

Earlier in the column, he reviews the cost and lies about Obamacare, the situation in Syria (re: Weapons of Mass Destruction).  Certainly there are a lot of areas in which we have pointed out where things are just upside down and rightside wrong with what this Administration has and is doing.  The key ‘graph in the piece is this:

Obama’s tenure is a vast desert of anti-achievement, a landscape of waste and ruin on every front at home and abroad, save on the ability to mobilize voters who don’t know or don’t care about the state of the country or the world.

“Determined Weakness” ™ is the phrase I started to use years ago to describe what he and his Socialist / Progressive cohort are doing to this nation under the guise of “Fundamentally Transforming the USA”.  There are STILL most of the Right / Conservatives that believe that the right analogy of what is happening is Jimmy Carter’s Administration.  I came of age during his term and he did such a poor job of stewardship, his Administration has been called “the worst evah!”.  While I do believe some was intentional in that Carter really believed that his policies would STRENGTHEN the US (one doesn’t become a nuke engineering officer on a sub by being dumb), most of the damage done to the US (high inflation, bad economy, lowered standing in the world; the “Malaise”).

Not Obama.  Hewitt has it right insofar as I think the above line succinctly sums up the Obama Administration absolutely.  But I disagree in that it isn’t incompetence; even being stupid can’t result in failure in many fronts.  No, this is deliberate and had been pre-planned for years (or decades, truth be told, by his co-sojourners that also have hated America and the roots of American Exceptionalism).  Like here with the Secular Humanism of Progressivism at the levers of Pop Culture that has trashed traditional values for years, Obama and his Administration has been doing the same by manipulating the levers of domestic policy and in foreign policy, doing nothing.

The traditional role of the President is to leave the US stronger by the end of his term.  Each and every area where Government plays a role (an ever increasing intrusion), we traditional Americans expect to see a President to enforce the laws and have policies that better the lives of all.  We expect that is his outlook and raison d’etre as well.

The problem for us, and Hewitt calling him the anti-President nails it, Obama ridicules that idea and role.  Oh sure, each and every speech we see the words dripping from his lips – but few see that they are tinged with bitterness and bile.  No, the words are but a cover – and often these past few years, merely a cover for his actions which often show a determination that is a 180 from what people read into his Constant Campaigning. No, this weakening and “wreckage” is intentional, by design, and by most measures, successful.

One cannot be a strong and powerful country without a strong economy – where are we now?  One cannot be a shining light of a country unless the Rule of Law is not only obeyed but embraced.  One cannot continue to be seen as the freest country in history of the world when Government tirelessly takes choice away from its people.  A country cannot be seen as a place of opportunity unless a country promulgates a set of rules that all understands and sets an environment of stability.  A country cannot be seen as moral when the standards of morality change at a whim and when the traditional values “that brung you” are denigrated and dismissed for those that have proven to be failures. One cannot be an independent country without enforcing its borders (they aren’t) and a strong military (which is being hollowed out by reductions and by injecting Progressive policies that run counter to “unit cohesion”).  One cannot have a cohesive country when at every turn, we see Progressives using the enmity  of racial and class baiting to separate and grow the chasm between Americans.  One cannot have a friendly country when the flames of envy and coveteousness are fanned and hard work.

I could go on for quite some time.

But worst of all, a United States of America may not be the place to live when it seems that the aim of Government is to sap the American “Can Do!” spirit and enslave its citizens to a mandatory collective mindset.  When the spirit of Independence and Liberty has been drained away, the belief that we answer to a Higher Power, and thus accountable something larger than ourselves, when the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitutions are rebuked to a status of “mere guidelines”, then what?

We’ve seen what Socialism / Communism has done in the past – remember that Progressives are no better than incremental Socialists (right Zandra Rice-Hawkins of Granite State Progress?)
