Quick Thought – Oh, Steve…..

Two snippets from Grokster Steve’s post “Lunch Racists Bail On Michelle-O” caught my eye (emphasis mine):

The Government limits the choices by force of law but human nature (and natures laws) trump man made laws every time so the kids end up skipping the Michelle-O in favor of quick alternatives.   So the law effectively creates more harm because it presumes to know the minds, tastes, and needs of everyone everywhere, as viewed from the backs of nutrition unicorns prancing around inside the blue bubbles that pass for “the way the whole world thinks according to progressive busy-bodies.”

And this:

That’s what we call the “Free Healthy Foods Leave Kids Hungry Act.”  Now that’s progressive.

That latter one is quite true – in their Progressive Rush to mitigate all perceived inequalities and give themselves a “rush” for the delirium that they’ve done “a job well done”, the actual results should demand a rush by the rest of us to be judgemental for them having rushed the process and then in brushing the results off as “well, they haven’t had time to get used to it yet” as the reason while people aren’t doing what those same Progressives believe they should be doing to better themselves. Yes, a mouthful.

Xian_guerreros_terracota_generalAnd that first snippet answers the dangling idea that I just left – that Steve thinks that Progressives think that everyone thinks like them.  Nein, mon amigo!  Progressives don’t believe that everyone thinks like them.  Rather, Progressives believe that, being the Smart People they believe they are (right Zandra Rice-Hawkins of Granite State Progress?), they hold “The Truth” for Everyone.  Thus, they believe that if they force nudge people to “act better”, everyone else will go “Oh, isn’t that just so great!” and then begin to think Progressively (that everyone should be exactly the same like the buried Terracotta  Army statues– everyone looks and is exactly the same (or else!) (and yes, Zanda’s LightBringer Obama’s Progressive policies ARE burying us all)).

Sure, the rest of us do say “Oh, isn’t that just so great!” but in a far different tone and inflection than what Progressives expect.  Indeed, Steve is right in that “but human nature (and natures laws) trump man made laws every time“.
