Obamacare Premise (or promise?): “we’ll eliminate the fraud that insurance companies allow”

Remember that argument?  That Government spends far less on administrative costs, 2-3%,  so that ALONE is a good thing (with the implied meaning that the Government can do as well as private insurance (who were around 20-25%).  What they didn’t ever want to talk about was the fraud in the Government’s Medicare / Medicaid system with a run rate of around $80 Billion (although I have heard of lower ones of $50 – 60 Billion).  Private insurance spent more as a percentage basis (4-7%) but their fraud rates were far, far less; spend a little more percentage wise to find it and spend FAR less in outgoes due to fraud (“Fraud, about 9 % of the Medicare budget“) – see:

Or take Medicare. Other than the source of its premiums, Medicare is no different, economically, than a regular health-insurance company. But unlike, say, UnitedHealthcare, it is a bureaucracy-beclotted nightmare, riven with waste and fraud.

Last year the Government Accountability Office estimated that no less than one-third of all Medicare disbursements for durable medical equipment, such as wheelchairs and hospital beds, were improper or fraudulent. Medicare was so lax in its oversight that it was approving orthopedic shoes for amputees.

Grokster Steve was prescient:

The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works — (…) And those of us who manage the public’s dollars will be held to account — to spend wisely, reform bad habits, and do our business in the light of day — because only then can we restore the vital trust between a people and their government.

-Barack Obama

So how does ANY Pro-Obama-regressive argue that Obama is going to be held to account over this (or any of the other Democrats that voted for this – and remember, not a single Republican voted for this nationalization of what USED to be OUR healthcare choices)?  Why CAN’T we hold Obama to his own Rule book?

The Obama administration announced Friday that it would significantly scale back the health law’s requirements that new insurance marketplaces verify consumers’ income and health insurance status.

It’s a pretty good bet that this “scale back” is about to be dialed back to just about zero.

Instead, the federal government will rely more heavily on consumers’ self-reported information until 2015, when it plans to have stronger verification systems in place.

SO, do you think that there just might be A WHOLE TON OF A LOT OF FRAUD about to happen?  I remember Carol Shea-Porter squeaking that she was going to run Waste and Fraud “out of the system”; so what will be her response be if someone confronts her that her LightBringer has just thrown open the doors to the Treasury?  Effectively, Obama has pulled Government away from this – whatever will she do (as she does believe that nothing good happens unless Govt is standing in front of you to “protect”, Govt on each side to hold you up, and Govt behind you to catch you just in case you fall backward.  That’s right – her perfect state of being is to have you surrounded by Government.  In this, she is just like NH State Reps. Leigh Webb, Kris Roberts, and former NH State Senator Kathy Sgambatiwithout Government, you are useless.

I predict that there will be massive fraud in all this, and now we can blame both Carol Shea-Porter AND Jeanne Shaheen: they both voted for this all the while telling us that implementation will be just dandy peachy keen.  Compared to sliced bread – we’d take this as only “the rich” would have to pay.  Guess what – that isn’t about to happen – so much for all those subsidies that were supposed to be doled out by the State run exchanges.

Oh wait – that’s ANOTHER thing – Obama’s IRS decided all on its own, that it too, would contravene the actual wording of the Obamacare Law – IN BLACK AND WHITE, it states that ONLY those exchanges run by States are able to give out tax credits.  How convenient was it then, when seeing how many States decided not to jump into that money pit, that the IRS DECIDED ON ITS OWN that its self-drawn-up regulations would allow it to give out other peoples’ money for not just for the State run ones but for the Federally run ones as well.

It, just like other Departments run by Obamanauts, have decided that they can disregard the Rule of Law and substitute anything they want into its place.

Anybody else convinced that we are starting to enter a really dangerous time leading up to Tyranny for real?  That our Civil Servants believe that they can fundamentally transform themselves into our Civil Masters, simply by ignoring or changing at will, any legally passed and signed Law they want?

How say you, Annie Kuster, Carol Shea-Porter, and Jeanne Shaheen?  Are you going to defend the State of New Hampshire against the incipient Tyranny and stand up against Obama?  Or are you just going to punt and sidestep with “oh, it’s just a speedbump…..”?

You, too, Kelly Ayotte – what say you?

And to the Republicans in the US House – when are you all going to stop playing patty-cake and making useless votes to repeal Obamacare (knowing full well nothing would come of it)?  How about growing a couple hundred pair of brass ones and actually vote to DEFUND this slop, using Obama’s increasing sense of lawlessness  as the reason?  Should we be sending you each a set of these?
