Just think – the IRS only has our SSNs and financial records – for now. Add in your Healthcare records soon

IRS“The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works — whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified.”

– President Barack Obama, Inauguration, 1/20/09

Uh-oh – this isn’t going to help “the Government works right” meme, eh Barack?  You know, that implicit Progressive Boast that Government is “capable”?  Well, the series of scandals, often seemingly by his political appointees and certainly by those on his ideological bus, has put a frown on that.  Certainly the IRS, targeting TEA Party groups simply because of a political disagreement, strikes even more fear of the most feared agency in the Federal Government.  But wasn’t that kinda the plan?

But it did set this up – more of “a lack of Trust”. This is not a sterling example of Goverment that “works” (emphasis mine):

The IRS mistakenly posted the Social Security numbers of tens of thousands of Americans on a government website, the agency confirmed Monday night. One estimate put the figure as high as 100,000 names.

The numbers were posted to an IRS database for tax-exempt political groups known as 527s and first discovered by the group Public.Resource.org.

The California-based group said it learned of the mistaken postings Tuesday while working on an unrelated audit of an “improperly vetted shipment” of IRS data on DVDs and promptly informed the agency, which shut down the site the next day.

An IRS spokesman told FoxNews.com on Monday the agency was alerted about a “substantial number” of Social Security numbers posted on the site and removed web access to the information “out of an abundance of caution.” The spokesman also said the IRS is now “assessing the situation and exploring available options.”

The IRS  have now proven that they have no problem in using the power of their offices to politically target those they hate.  They have also proven they can’t keep highly personal and important information safe.  And these are the dudes, now being the Gatekeepers and “The Muscle” of Obamacare, that are going to be responsible for determining if you have the right healthcare – which means knowing even more about your financials and now, your healthcare information.

So which will be worse – using your most intimate healthcare information against you for political gain?

Or just being stupid in handling it?  And then others using it instead?

And what if it isn’t just being stupid?
