Jeanne Shaheen Helps ‘Put the Fun’ Back in Fundraiser

Alternate Title–and a great name for a children’s book. “Anyone Seen Jeanne?

pot-of-MoneyFilibusters are like ‘equality’ on the Democrat plantation. It’s only good when your kind of people are concerned.  Republican’s filibuster and it’s all about division, partisanship, stopping progress, obstruction of the will of the people.  Democrats do it and they are Jesus healing the sick, feeding the hungry, and protecting the future for our children–even when the filibuster is to ensure that babies never grow up to be children.

They’re Democrats, what else can I say?

Another thing that is like the filibusters is Senator Jeanne Shaheen’s office which, after a fashion,  filibustered on the whereabouts of New Hampshire’s senior Senator on the evening of a joint caucus session of the US Senate on the nuclear option–on the filibuster in the US Senate.  It was pretty important but Senator Shaheen was conspicuously absent.

So where was New Hampshire’s Senior Senator?

At a fundraiser.  It was scheduled in advance.  You know how it is.  Ensuring that you can continue to “govern” is always more important than actually governing, just ask Obama.

And there were all those donors who had already given money so that this particular Senator could continue to be the sort of US Senator who chooses donors over responsibilities.  That says a lot.  Democrat donors.  Big donors, mind you.  $1.2 million in donors. People who don’t just support Democrat policy they finance it.  (Lobbyists, no doubt as well–oooohhhh.)  Well, based on what we can glean so far, between the Democrat Shaheen, and the Democrat donors, and all that money, being able to say you are a US Senator is far more important than actually doing the job of a US Senator.

I have to confess I am a bit torn.

These are people who paid to keep Jeanne Shaheen from being in the Senate when something important was under debate.   But they paid her so that she could keep being the Senator who thought it was more important to hobnob with her ideological sugar daddies than to actually vote on something Senate leadership, Democrat leadership, thought critical.

It’s like the 3AM phone call.

“You’ve reached the office of Senator Jeanne Shaheen.  I’m sorry I can’t come to the phone right now but I’m busy rubbing elbows with those deep pocketed lobbyists I deride my opponents for being in bed with instead of working for the people.  Yeah, I know.  But that’s just how I roll.

If you leave your name and address, a staffer will send you an irrelevant form letter.

Thank you.”

I can’t wait to hear who was there.  We deserve to know who was more important, don’t you think?
