Data Point – Your degree DOES determine your future earnings.

Average wages by College major

“We show that there are large differences in unemployment rates, underemployment rates, and average wages across majors. In particular, we show that those with degrees in majors that provide technical training, such as “Engineering” and “Math & Computers,” or in those that are geared toward growing parts of the economy, such as “Education” and “Health,” have tended to do pretty well when compared to the rest of the pack. At the other end of the spectrum, those with a “Liberal Arts” or “Leisure & Hospitality” major tend to have lower wages, higher unemployment, and higher underemployment.”

So, when you are contemplating your college loan loading, you DO need to understand that while Progressives want you to believe that everyone is equal (e.g., your BA is Chicano LGBT / Queer studies is just as important as a BS in Chemical Engineering with a Petro-geology minor), the market place has other ideas.  Spending $100, 000 in money you don’t have to get an Early Childhood education degree from an Ivy League school shows you didn’t learn your math in elementary school when you were there.
