The Live Free or Die Alliance, purported to be a non-partisan digital playground for news, culture, and politics, has a survey for candidates to complete that it then posts for the benefit of wandering Internet travelers who stumble into their little web oasis. It is spartan but efficient and I take no issue with the feature. In fact I find it quite useful. But it needs to be updated.
Recent stands by the State Democrat party and its non-profit organs pushing for outside influence with regard to enhanced background checks for New Hampshire–dictated from Washington DC–stabs at the heart of our state culture. It is contrary to local control and a common sense approach to gun rights that continues to make the Granite State one of the safest states in the country. So they need to add two new questions heading into the 2014 election season.
Do you support enhanced background checks for gun purchases in New Hampshire?
If yes, will you submit a bill to the NH legislature to implement enhanced background checks in New Hampshire?
If Democrats believe this issue is so critical for the safety and security of New Hampshire then they should be proud to run on it. If they don’t run on it they need to be asked why?
If lefty groups are not asking candidates about the position we should be challenging them as well.
