Sorry Lee Nyquist, Jeanne Shaheen is NOT a Moderate Senator

ShaheenBefore I expose the fraud perpetrated by Democrat Lee Nyquist in the Union Leader this past week, where he gushed about how Jeanne Shaheen is this respected, put together, moderate Senator, I have a quick question.

If George Bush can be blamed almost a decade later for the Obama Administration Bureaucracy engaging in unprecedented intrusions into peoples privacy then why can’t Jeanne Shaheen be held accountable for the IRS targeting Conservative 501(c) 4’s while she was actually asking them to go out and investigate 501(c)4’s?

A few years back Senator Jeanne Shaheen blamed raging wildfires in California on George W. Bush and so-called Global Warming.  The real culprit was environmental groups who refused to let the state clear dead trees and brush to prevent a severe fire but Shaheen couldn’t be bothered with letting facts interfere with her ideology (and the steady flow of green special-interest money into her campaign).  At that time the Democrats controlled both houses of Congress, but all they managed to accomplish was to override a veto on a 250 Billion dollar farm bill that had little to do with farms and a lot to do with kick-backs, entitlements, and special interests.

Not long after the Democrats held majority control of Congress and the White House, but did nothing about so-called Global Warming.  Since then wild fires have raged across several states including Colorado, making the current Democrat President not only equally culpable (on the same terms Shaheen used to bash Bush), but complicit on a new level–in the lack of equipment available to fight those fires. Instead of repeating her defense of the sacred woods and the homes of those who dwell in or near them,  Senator Shaheen was as silent as a church mouse; strangely so considering she actually sits on the Senate Sub Committee on public lands and forests.

So she bashes Bush for wildfires that were not actually his fault, says nothing about wildfires that were not likely Obama’s fault either, but that could not be fought effectively because of action the Obama Administration took.  And that’s a moderate Senator?  Sounds like an ideological hack to me.

But not according to past Democrat candidate for the New Hampshire state Senate Lee Nyquist, who–as mentioned previously–penned a love letter praising Shaheen as a well-respected, bi-partisan, moderate, revered by her colleagues.  Nyquist ran as the guy to bring civility back to Concord.   Lest we forget, Lee Nyquist’s  campaign manager is the same person who while running Lee’s campaign said Democrats should beat Republicans with a bat.   If that is civility it might explain why he thinks Jeanne Shaheen a moderate.

Moderate, not ideological, Jeanne truly reflects New Hampshire values and has for over a generation of dedicated public service.

So where was the moderate, bi-partisan Jeanne Shaheen, defender of the Federal Republic,  when the duly elected Executive Council of the state of New Hampshire voted not to fund a special interest that has funneled buckets of money into her political career for years?  Instead of honoring the decisions of the Council she ran as fast as she could to the Federal through and did an end around to fund abortion providers in the Granite State.  Funding a no bid contract?  Side-stepping state sovereignty?  These are moderate policy moves?  Nope, they are highly partisan left wing acts.

Where was the moderating Shaheen’s objections when President Obama signed an Executive order undoing some 200 actions of the previous administration?  She had none.  She was happy to sit by while a Democrat undid the work of a Republican Administration.   Undid as much as it thought it could, actually.  Moderate?  Really?

When the Obama administration was considering violating religious conscience and protected freedoms by forcing church-run hospitals and universities to give their employees free contraception, Jeanne Shaheen was part of group of Senators demanding the Administration support the policy.  What is so moderate and bi-partisan about demanding people of faith violate their religious conscience?  Are these Democrat New Hampshire Calues?

Jeanne Shaheen accepts a majority of her campaign donations from left wing special interests like Unions and ideological single issue advocates;  they account for 67% of donations, topping out at over 1.2 million dollars.

And where does that money come from…

MoveOn.org?  EMILY’s List? (Her own Law Firm?)

That might explain her values.

Her number one overall supporter is EMILY’s List, the ultra-extreme abortion advocacy group which only supports women candidates who support conception to birth abortion, including live birth abortion.  Live birth abortion of the Kermit Gosnell variety (he was convicted of murder, if you forgot).  Live birth abortion is not a moderate issue.  A super-majority of Americans oppose it.  In fact, a large number of Democrats oppose love birth abortion making Shaheen an extremist in a party of super-left leaning non-moderates.  Yest she is a moderate who reflects New Hampshire values?

Jeanne Shaheen recently voted to support the UN Small arms treaty that  seeks to implement controls that by their nature would interfere with and undermine the personal right to self defense as protected by the Second Amendment to the US Constitution.  I glossed over those basics here.  This is not a moderate position.  it certainly is not widely embraced in a state with some of the least restrictive gun laws in the world, and one of the lowest homicide and crime rates as a result.  Is it safe to say here that Shaheen is voting her left-wing ideology and not the will of the State she is supposed to represent in the US Senate?  She is not voting New Hampshire Values.

Jeanne Shaheen voted for ObamaCare, a garbage bill complete with the kickbacks, pay-offs, buy-outs, and all the larded up incentives the left had to pile into it to get it to pass in the Senate.   What is so honorable about helping buy votes to pass a bill that was then and is now, still overwhelmingly unpopular and directly connected to rising rates, loss of coverage, people losing their doctors, businesses cutting staff, pay, and hours, and the Senate itself having to backtrack on a host of fees and taxes that Shaheen was happy to support when the party told her to support them, but backed away from when they told her to back away?

I’m still not seeing how Jeanne Shaheen is anything but a left wing ideological shill.

Shaheen’s Club for Growth Lifetime score is 8%.   That seems awfully low for a ‘moderate’ Senator who works in a bi-partisan fashion.  If she were a true moderate shouldn’t that score be a lot be further away from zero?

Shaheen sits on or in close proximity to various Senate environmental committees, who have done what as one after another green energy boondoggle collapses under bankruptcy taking American tax dollars with them?  Nothing.  In fact the Department of Energy continues apace to waste our money on the Democrat parties Obama donor friends and family bail out plan regardless of the outcome.  Moderate you say?  What’s moderate about letting the administration dump billions into bottomless green money pits simply because you are an environmental leftist yourself? Nothing moderate about it.

Shaheen’s net worth is estimates somewhere near 3.6 million dollars.   She is an ideologically driven limousine liberal who votes for ridiculous bills like Obama Care, runs her mouth off repeating the talking points she has been handed, and then pretends she has no responsibility for any of it as it becomes clear that she may have just helped destroy millions of small business owners, participated in the destruction of millions of jobs,  and ruined people lives.

But why should she care?  None of that will ever touch her, even if she fails to win re-election.   She can walk away, pile her lifelong taxpayer funded pay and bennies from the US government on top of her millions in net worth, and pretend to be a wizened matron of the Democrat party until her dying days.

Not a one of which will be spent as a moderate.  Which begs the question…what kind of a left wing nut-job is Nyquist if he thinks Shaheen is a moderate?
