Palin Unimpressed By Ayotte’s Flip-Flop On Immigration – Suggests Primary Challenge

Don’t anger the Mama Grizzly!
Three years ago, Sarah Palin backed Ayotte in the Senate primary, splitting the Tea Party vote in the primary, helping her beat Ovide LaMontagne, and go on to become Senator. Even called Kelly a “Granite Grizzly” for her strong words of commonsense regarding immigration and other conservative hot buttons.

What a difference a couple of years of Washington co-option make! Not only has Ayotte fallen in with the McCain-Graham progressive axis, but she has earned the title from Chuck-you Schumer of “Our Republican” – Not a position you’d really want to be in if you realize that any time Chuckie is smiling, conservatives are getting screwed!

From JoeMiller.US:

Now Palin feels differently about Ayotte. In fact, in an radio interview she suggested that Ayotte, now in the Senate, should face a primary over her “flip-flop” on immigration, as Palin put it.

“I think that every politician should be held accountable for breaking their campaign promises. Kelly Ayotte, bless her heart, she had on her website that her top immigration priority would be to secure the border. ‘No excuses’ is her quote. No excuses,” Palin said on Fox News radio to host John Gibson. “And she was absolutely against amnesty and yet Kelly Ayotte and Marco Rubio and all the others who had said that border security must come first before any talk about immigration reform they turned their back on the American public, so why should they not be held accountable?”

Chuck Asay at Townhall Cartoons gets to the heart of the problem with the Bill:

It never was about the border - vote buying as usual!
It never was about the border – vote buying as usual!

Ayotte recognized from the beginning of her campaign that she needed out of state bucks to win, hence the frequent appearances of ol’ spud face on the campaign trail with her, and beaucoup de DC money.
That alone should have been a warning to Palin, who already knew about establishment treachery.

Meanwhile, I responded to a fundraising appeal (Help! mean ads from Bloomberg), only to find that the reply address was a dead letter box – just the way the NRSC does it! – Oh well, let’s just make it an open letter:

Dear Senator,

We’re busy fighting Bloomberg and his lefty creeps, but you have a mixed message problem.

We thank you for your stand on the 2nd amendment, but we’re frankly puzzled that you’re on board with a terrible immigration bill.

As an attorney, if you presented a brief that looked like the immigration bill, or like ObamaCare, the judge would laugh you out of court.

You know what a brief is, you know what clarity is – the immigration bill isn’t brief, it isn’t clear, and its got a lot of at garbage in it. The answer to a bill like this isn’t “no”, it’s “HELL NO”!

Your message problem? It isn’t good enough to simply suck less than Jeanne Shaheen, it is essential to have steadfast principles.

Don’t let being a defense hawk blind you to the serious problems that McCain and Graham have with principles.

Mike Rogers.
