Oh Kelly?? About your upcoming Immigration vote – Part 2

Kelly, another question for you.  First, the background (just in case the actual whole bill has not yet been read, emphasis mine):

Under the existing Senate immigration bill, immigrants who have been in the United States illegally can obtain a provisional legal status after paying fines and meeting certain preconditions. But this population would have to wait at least 13 years to be able to obtain full citizenship, and it isn’t until then that they could qualify for government benefits such as Obamacare.

The problem arises when this rule interacts with another provision of Obamacare – the employer mandate. Starting in January, businesses with 50 or more employees who don’t offer workers health insurance that the federal government deems acceptable must pay a penalty if at least one of their workers obtains insurance on a new government-run exchange. The penalty is up to $3,000 per worker.

This means if the immigration bill becomes law, some employers could effectively face incentives of hundreds of thousands of dollars to hire newly legalized immigrants over American citizens, because the immigrant workers would not qualify for Obamacare benefits.

The Government giveth to to those that should not be here – and will taketh from those who will suffer simply because they are Citizens.

So, the question is:

What are you going to tell your fellow New Hampshire Citizens, by voting for this bill, when they come up to you and say “my job got out-sourced to an illegal alien that your vote made legal”?  You will have just made the situation where companies hire illegals to lower their prices against their competition that hire citizens personal.  You, with this vote, will have made it rational for employers to hire “provisionals” over Citizens, especially at the lower skill level jobs that require much manual labor.

Government should first do no harm to its citizens – this has the probability to do MUCH harm to those that voted for you to send you to DC.  Will they be so willing when this situation happens to them?
