How 'bout A Little Leftist Prejudice - Granite Grok

How ’bout A Little Leftist Prejudice

This morning we had the privilege of having as a GrokTALK! guest, Cornerstone Policy Research Executive director Ashley Pratte.  Ashley was sharing with us the different reactions she gets when people discover that a 24 year old young woman is…(gasp!) a conservative.  That she is not down with the progs femi-nazi struggle.  That she is not interested in wearing a birth-control pill costume or advocating for taxpayer funded birth-control or abortion.  That she is not a sex object for political play nor does she facilitate this personae by letting the opposite sex use her body as another whistle-stop on the hook-up culture express.

Smart, tasteful, literate, articulate, well-informed, disciplined, activist, and not at all a Democrat.

Needless to say, they are in high dudgeon over the possibility.  How could she, how dare she, what is wrong with her?

The left tries to pigeon-hole women like this, segregate them, intimidate them, making them the object of prejudice and ridicule.  And if they can’t be turned, perhaps they can be made to be silent.  (Ask Sarah Palin or her daughters about it.)

This is the sexism of the left. It is very real.  And it is not just women.  Blacks, gays, Jews, immigrants (legal or otherwise) who do not conform to the lefts notion of blacks and gays and Jews and Immigrants are scorned, cursed, verbally abused and bullied by Democrats.  They are pilloried in person, and where necessary–depending on their public stature, in print and media.

The Progressive machine erects these monuments of hate, which are no different than their Klan burning crosses in someone’s front yard.  They send a message that you have stepped out of line.  You do not know your place.  And you have been warned.

They are insulted, belittled, smeared, called stupid, ignorant, and sometimes wished harm, whatever it takes to get them to shut up or go away.  There can be no examples of women, gays, blacks, Jews, or anyone else in the progressives victim-class yearbook letting people know that they do not need to stay trapped on the Democrat Plantation or conform to the Democrat party rules for their particular ideological species.

In Ashley’s case, or any modern woman who refuses to be a left-wing gal, tell me how this is different than the prejudice of the 50’s June Cleaver, homemaker image that the early feminists were trying to break out of?  The American culture up to that time had an idea, a prejudice about a woman’s place.  If that was so wrong, then what could be right about how the left does the exact same thing to women now?  And how is it civil to bully them for making their own choices, just because those choices are different from those of the left?

The left is equally hypocritical about other ideas they claim ownership of as well.  Equality, wealth, tolerance, rights, empowerment, there is a long list.  These are all lies of the left.  Costumes they wear in the form of words that deceive, which they hand out to their fellow-travelers to wear in public like white robes that shield them from their own hypocrisy as they wander the fruited plain in search of people who refuse to conform to their stereotypes.

Ashley, for her part, can take care of herself, but isn’t it ironic that the party of female empowerment is actually little more than a collection of prejudiced, jack-booted, bullies who demand sexist conformity, to their particular world-view?

We’re not surprised.
