I just wanted to wish a hearty good morning to the NSA or IRS, or whomever is tasked with surveilling my “extremist rants.”
And oh, the irony of that. I’m an “extremist” because I think freedom and liberty demand a smaller more accountable government where the money, power, and responsibility are, preferably, kept to the lowest common denominator. I think that way because it is easier to keep an eye on it, and reign it in when it tries to get out of control.
Yet here we are saying good morning to the faceless, unaccountable, big government bureaucrats who are secretly collecting data on everyone in America; using their power to affect the right of assembly and association, affecting national elections, collecting everyone’s phone records, spying on the press, scraping the whole of the Internet for everyone’s online activity, for purposes stated as domestic security but then, who defines that moving target?
Who defines it? The unaccountable bosses of the faceless unaccountable bureaucrats who get their marching orders from unaccountable ideologically driven Czars appointed by Obama, from Obama’s inner circle, and even the president himself, the most divisive, partisan president, perhaps ever.
So to the spies doing all the spying and sifting, let me see if I can help you find your good morning message. Patriot. Tea Party. Second Amendment. Freedom. Liberty. Free State Project. Gun Rights. Constitution. State Sovereignty. Nullification. Bill of Rights. Self-Responsibility. Small responsible government. Free Speech. Low taxation. Right to Work. Voter ID. Repeal Obama-care. End the Fed. Eliminate the Department of Education…is that enough or do I need more?
