Fairpoint vs PSNH vs The Customer

Are YOU getting the squeeze between incompetence and malfeasance?
Are YOU getting the squeeze between incompetence and malfeasance?
Whilst I agree with Skip’s premise, that Fairpoint themselves are so bad that they are almost a reason to leave New England, I might be inclined to call this a case of “PSNH Happens”.

About two years ago, a fledgling electricity broker, Resident Power, convinced me to sign up for cheaper electricity, delivered over PSNH’s wires, and billed conveniently through PSNH.

All worked well enough at first, and I was saving money, until the electricity supplier, bundler Power New England, was driven into bankruptcy by a cash flow problem, most likely exacerbated by PSNH’s maneuvering.

Notwithstanding the rapid arrangement of an alternate end supplier by brokers Resident Power (the supplier happened to be Fairpoint), PSNH refused to handle the switchover, rescinded my then outstanding bill, rebilled me at their higher rate, and slow-rolled the change of supplier in order to pocket the maximum profit over several months.

So, notwithstanding Fairpoint’s failings, it wouldn’t hurt to turn the spotlight on PSNH, and see what kind of malfefactors scurry for cover!
