“Reward our friends and punish our enemies” – are we now in the final push in “breaking us” to Fundamentally Transform” us?

Commerce Claws the rest of the Constitution?I have been scared for a while now – for our Constitutional Republic built on our Constitution and its Classical Western Liberal values (not to be confused by the very illiberal Liberals who absconded with yet another word, placing their own definition on it (like gay)).  It has been under assault for decades but from what we have seen over the last five years, over the last eight months, over the last week, the pace has only increased.  Obama said just before his first inauguration that his goal was to fundamentally transform the United States.  From Wilson to FDR to LBJ, and now to Obama.

Each is tied to each other by their hatred of the US Constitution.  Wilson was very open about it, and wrote about it.  FDR wanted his Second Bill of Rights that would change, forever, the Founders Vision that the best government was the least government.  Instead, it would have become that “positive rights” that would have had Government give Rights to people instead of the “negative Rights” that keeps Government from doing things TO you.  FDR set the table with his New Deal that helped to start that transformation.  Face it, look at the uncoupling of the nuclear family to its intergenerational extended one – no longer did the children affirm their bonds to their parents once the latter become unable to provide or care for themselves – Government would and did step in.  Parents could be “independent” for years with Social Security.

And thus, Progressives had succeeded in radically transforming the definition of what it meant to be “independent”.  True, the bonds between parents and their adult children were weakened, but the bonds between those parents and their government became more of a vice grip (more by the latter than of the former).  True independence? Hardly – that dependency was not removed, merely shifted – to Government.  Dependency, once what was to be “Widows Welfare” (a good program to fill in for a LACK of family and loved ones), became the Parent to the parents.  This was repeated by LBJ with the “War on Poverty” – which made men irrelevant within the nuclear family (in fact, a disincentive).   Now that intergenerational family head is no longer the Patriarch but the Governmental Social Worker with the monthly check, EBT,  and the other benefits.  Trillions spent but the words of Jesus still ring true (“For ye have the poor with you always”) and the poverty rate has only gone up.  Medicaid only exacerbated the dependency of our elders upon government instead of on loved ones.  And yes, I will say it – have any of the socially transforming programs pushed by Progressives been Constitutional?  But they have been deliberate end-arounds, haven’t they?  have Oh Skip, you are such a hater, you cold-hearted flinted extremist!

My response is this – answer the question!  Makes no difference if both Dems and Repubs voted for these types of policies; just show me where in the Constitution (like “separation of Church and State” and “killing unborn babies is ok”) it is allowed?  Oh, I can hear the Democrats wailing now “are you willing to kill that program”? Any other argument is irrelevant to my question – I am only concerned with if it is or not, and what the repercussions have been, are, and will be.  So, yes or no?

In each and every way, we see the forces of a foreign philosophy, an illiberal and regressive “Progressive” movement that promises one thing to the populace even as their actions can only end up in another.  To fundamentally change us means that all of our history and traditions must be forgotten – and our educational system is rushing to oblige to help us “forget” what make us, well, us as Americans.

We see the assault on The Rule of Law (acting without authorizing legislation even as claiming such ability, ignoring court decisions, the Executive Branch making decisions that ought be made by the others).  We see the assaults on the Bill of Rights:

  • Attacks by prohibiting the free expression of religion of the First Amendment (instead, we get “freedom of worship”)
  • Attacks on the freedom of speech (the current IRS scandals)
  • Attacks on the freedom of the press (denigrating entire news organizations and criminalizing individual reporters)
  • Attacks on people simply of political differences by using various arms of the government (e.g., Labor Dept going after VanderSloot for contributing to Romney)
  • Demoting the Second Amendment to merely for hunting or sport (and not for its intended purpose – to protect the State and its people from tyranny)
  • Acts against the Fourth Amendment (the IRS scandals, warrantless searches)
  • Narrow casting of right as defined in the Ninth
  • Complete disregard of the Tenth, reaching past even the States but down to the local levels as well
  • Crossing the line on the Fourteenth by treating non-citizens at least equal to Citizens by refusing to enforce laws on the books in protecting the borders (Section 1) and distorting the plain meaning of Section 4 (using it as a “gun to the head” ploy to justify more and more spending of money we do not have).
  • The Fifteenth has been rendered moot for Caucasians by the DOJ in openly declaring that non-whites cannot be racists towards whites simply because they are whites (e.g., Black Panthers voting intimidation).
  • The Sixteenth is being used, not to raise the monies to fund government, but as an ideological club to punish the successful simply for ideological purposes by stacking more and more taxes upon them only (Obamacare tax being but one).

I posit that each has been deliberately targeted in multiple occasions and in multiple ways so as to more fully move us away from our heritage of limited government as well as to make the Constitution less and less important by repeated and flagrant disregards by the Executive Branch (and, truth be told, aided and abetted at time by the other two).   How else to better transform US than by pulling the Constitution out from underneath us?

It is almost that as if this Administration is punishing our Founders via stomping on the Constitution – those old white rich people must pay.
