Just How Dumb Are They?

When the front man for the Government, a guy who complains when the checks and balances keep him from doing whatever he feels like doing with this power,  says stuff like this

Still, you’ll hear voices that incessantly warn of government as nothing more than some separate, sinister entity that’s the root of all our problems, even as they do their best to gum up the works; or that tyranny always lurks just around the corner. You should reject these voices. Because what they suggest is that our brave, creative, unique experiment in self-rule is just a sham with which we can’t be trusted.

…well, this would be funny if it wasn’t so scary.  The guy saying these words means self-rule by his own bad self.  His preferred method of governance, collective rights by direct democracy, organized by central planners, is the kind of rule that drove our nation into being.  The entire idea of self-rule is that the people and the states would and could decide for themselves without fear of tyranny or attack.  That the federal governments few and limited powers came from the states and the people.  Self rule.  Federalism.  Checks and Balances.

But Obama and the professional left oppose federalism at every turn and at every opportunity try to do more and to allow the states and the people to do less.

So tyranny is not lurking just around the corner.  It is here.  It is always here.  And the founders knew that.  But does the 2013 graduating class at Ohio State University know that, or are they just pumped to have Obama speaking at their coming out to joblessness party?
