Tyranny: Democrat Socialists of America in the US House saying (Ah-gain) “you don’t need all that and you didn’t earn it anyways!”

So they believe that if you have too much private property (too much cash), they have the perfect way to steal it from you: write a bill!  After all, it isn’t FAIR that you have earned so much by stealing it from the poor and middle class.  They have far better purposes for what your labor, skill, and motivation has earned you.  It’s rather simple, really – they basically want to count your money: $1 for you and we’ll take one too!  Lather, rinse, repeat – for your entire stash (not to be confused with the Obamastash which seems to come out of nowhere to give to the 47%.  Or have we found the source??  Oh, never mind – I don’t speak Mandarin).

Several House Democrats on Thursday introduced legislation that would impose a minimum 45 percent tax rate on taxable income above $1 million, and would set a 49 percent rate on income above $1 billion.

The Fairness in Taxation Act, H.R. 1723, was proposed by Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.), who said the bill would help put the nation’s wealth back into the hands of middle- and lower-income workers.

Fairness?  To take that which was not earned by you is “fair”?  I have yet to see any reference in the Democrat Socialists of America white papers that says that they stand in solidarity with the Founders who held the pursuit of Property (which was the original wording in the Declaration until Ole’ Ben said to use “Happiness” – which was considered to the be same thing back then) was one of the philosophical underpinnings of a free society).  A man is not free when the Government can take his stuff.  After all, in all other societies at the time, if the King wanted it, the King took it by “Divine Right” for the use of his government.  Now, we see this again – this bunch of Progressives wish to regress back to that time of when Government (via the King) wants something, they will just take it.  Grokster Steve’s phrase of Fee Staters not only covers the Democrat Progressives here in NH but those in DC as well; none of them believe it is enough.

This is “progress” with respect human Liberty and Freedom?  Obviously, no to the question but yes to their intent.  We see this incremental Tyranny in that these folks that believe in a foreign political philosophy certainly join in with Obama when he said “at some point, you have made enough money” (or even saved enough) –

Individual, meh.  The Collective, YEAH!

“Our country faces an inequality crisis,” she said Thursday. “While the amount of earned income — and accumulated wealth — by the top one percent of earners continues its dramatic rise, most Americans have seen little or no gain in take-home pay for decades.

Do we live in a Free country when those in Government start to take a confiscatory amount of peoples’ private property?  Most TEA Party and Conservatives do believe in a limited government and have no problem in supporting such an entity with their taxes.  The problem is that our Government is no longer limited and has been shown, over and over, to waste much of what it takes in and has been shown to be very inefficient in what it tries to do (emphasis on “tries” as there much evidence that in many cases (like Head Start) it simply fails).

“We need increased revenue to eliminate the sequester, fund investments in education, public safety, and infrastructure and provide support for Americans striving to reach the middle class,” she added.

Right, here is US House Rep Jan Schakowsky, certainly a democrat socialist (who once said that she wanted to drive private insurance companies out of business) who shows that to the Left, EVERY dollar is sacred (H/T: Doug) – cutting even 2.4% of the Federal budget is anathema to dollar-grabbers like her.  And look – she tries to justify her taking of that private property simply because, in her vain glorious fashion, she knows how to better spend those bucks – a “higher purpose” in her own mind.

For taxable income from $1 million to $10 million, the bill would set a 45 percent tax rate. That rate increases to 46 percent for income between $10 million and 20 million, 47 percent for income between $20 million and $100 million, and 48 percent for income between $100 million and $1 billion.

Like I said: a buck for me and I will allow you to keep a buck of your own money for you – for now.  Just wait, Greedy Politicians like her are never satisified – either with taking other peoples’ private property or their Freedom.

Her bill is co-sponsored by Reps. John Conyers (D-Mich.), Donna Edwards (D-Md.), Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.), Barbara Lee (D-Calif.), Betty McCollum (D-Minn.) and John Yarmuth (D-Ky.).

She is by no means the only person pushing this.  I do think that this herd mentality to pick off Individuals who are guilty simply by dint of being successful was summed up by one of the commenters:

“Her bill is co-sponsored by”, a small village of idiots.

The problem is that they are ELECTED US Congressional leaders and have been such for quite some time.  They make no bones about their departure from the norms of the US Constitution as originally written.

The Founders were right – taking away somebody’s private property also takes away their Freedom.  When Government does so, it is decreasing Liberty as it increases its own Power and Tyranny.  History has shown that Tyranny has often started out by promises of “helping others”.  The problem is that, soon after, “helping others” starts running into “Absolute power corrupts absolutely” – at which time almost anything can be justified.

Even if it is Jan and her Socialist Sojourners…
