Still think the Second Amendment DOESN’T exist to protect us from Tyrannical Government?

On a Firefox tab somewhere, I have a couple of posts I wish to comment on this very topic (just can’t seem to find them today) – that America can turn into a Tyrannical Government (especially if Progressives succeed in doing away with the Constitution – the ONLY bulwark we citizens have against an overreaching government.  And within that Constitution is the last resort of Citizens: the Second Amendment.

Think I’m crazy?  Ask someone whose “Democratic government” was overtaken by those that promoted a “safer, more secure” future than the government at the time about  the need for its Citizens to protect themselves – and a Free State:

Progressives often wish that we forget our history.  They also want to us to be ignorant of the history of other countries where their philosophy has been tried before – and failed.  Yes,

I do believe that Progressivism is nothing more than Communism in slow motion and topped with a Smiley Face.  Just like the dude on the corner going “Pssst, have I got a gift for YOU!  Free!  You’ll love it!”, Progressive Government (and its useful idiots) does the same “We can give you good stuff”.  Unlike the dude, whose “free stuff” is really a loss leader until the hook is well into your body, Progressives still keep offering their “free stuff” with the promise of “the rich will pay, those nasty snots”.

Communists wanted Socialism in one fell swoop – and got it in country after country.  Compare and contrast Communism with the results of the Socialist Democrats of the USA – there is no difference.  Which means if they are successful, we will end up with same outcomes.

And trust me, they will have a fight on their hand for these clowns are no better than any of the others in implementing their Utopian ideas.  And in the end, they will have to use the ultimate force of a State in order to enforce their notions of Freedom on you.

Part of this gentleman’s speaking true Truth about Power (emphasis mine):

In 1957 a Revolution … individuals … malicious individuals, masquerading as Democrats, revolutionaries, established a regime … a dictatorial regime … in my nation. Called Communism, Socialism, Stalinism, Marxism, and whatever other named -ism you want to put on it. The reason why it was done was to take away the guns from the People. The right of the People to wear guns. That is a God-given Right. It’s not given by anybody. It’s not given by any group. It’s the same thing as freedom, which is a God-given Right. And no one, absolutely no one, has the authority to take it away. To cease to defend the Second Amendment, and my God-given Right of freedom, will cease only with my death.

I’ve been through it. I’ve been there. You people don’t know what freedom is because you never lost it. You haven’t been tortured. You haven’t been [sic] assassinations, you haven’t been mothers begging for the life of their son not to be killed because the only reason is they wanted to be free. And they killed the mothers and they killed the son.

So my way to protest, the way to oppose, because if we keep tangling with the Second Amendment, we are open the same way that Cuba was open for Communism. China, Poland, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Venezuela, on and on. A dictatorial regime that will destroy this country, in the same way that it destroyed those ones that I mentioned to you.

“You people don’t know what freedom is because you never lost it.”  Most Progressives want us to believe that what happened in those countries is of no account in this one: “can’t happen”, they say.  “Our aims are only the best for you – see, what we do for you now?  Guess what we can do for you later!”

This gentleman experienced the Bang with no recourse for defense, for his government had rendered him defenseless.  They decided to return to the Hobbesian model which states that Government will give you a Right (and conversely, take it away at a political whim).  He makes a logical AND emotionally powerful argument for respect of our natural right to self-defense.  Remember, the Declaration spoke to and the Constitution enshrined what existed before the consent to govern was given.

Thus, you see the push to demonize the Founders, to declare the Constitution is from the old and dusty past that we no longer have to consider.  For if that can happen, they win.  No, not a revolution overnight, but a revolution of 100,000,000 of laws, regulations, taxes, and fees.  Make no mistake – Progressivism is not about winning the race to govern – that is only a precursor: to make us in Their Own Image.
